No one EVER gets angry with you for quitting a case. You do not lose skills or experience; you simply don't gain any experience or money. It's the same as it would be in life. You've quit a case, said "I'm at a dead end on this one, time to move on to the next one." End of story.

The ONLY potential repercussion with quitting a case (and it's so minor, it's barely worth mentioning), is when you get a faction case (y'know, the ones with the big EYE looking through a magnifying glass in the twist in the middle of the case, and one faction wants you to solve the case, and one faction wants the case to go away??). For faction cases, when you quit one, the faction that was in the negative standing will gain one point in your profile. (So, if I have a OOS+, LCN- case, if I quit it, I'll gain one point with La Cosa Nostra.)

Compared to the messes you get into from guessing (paying gabillions of bucks, possible retirement, drinking yourself into oblivion, guilt trips galore, etc...), quitting's a MUCH better option. Trust me!! ;-)
