Can the killer have a real alibi in a featured mystery?

Sometimes, in real life, the "killer" ie the person who is responsible for the death, has secured their alibi and hired someone else to do the dirty work. When the matter goes to court the person doing the hiring is as guilty as, or even more guilty than, the person pulling the trigger.

Yeah, but real life is infinitely more intricate than featured mysteries. That's why there's no 'reconsider your life choices and go to massage school' skill, from any of the factions.

Nope, featured or regular mystery, a real alibi clears a person. It's not so deep :)

You can get witness evidence pointing to more than one killer. One of them is lying. Look for either a false (or no) alibi, or a second witness to confirm the identification. Remember, there will be:

There can be only 1 (killer).
1 piece of material (physical) evidence and 2 witnesses which point to your killer.
Your killer will never have a (valid or verifiable) alibi.
Your killer will not be killed.
Your killer may or may not go into hiding.
Your killer will never have been with the police or in court at the time of the murder (eliminated by research).
Your killer will not have an evil twin, but may have had the full 8 years of evil medical/academic training. In the latter case, do not forget to address them as Doctor - unless they are already behind bars.
