Slowing down hunts

I know some folks really LOVE the excitement and speed hunts have taken on but I am finding the way we need to troll the waters at 12.06 and 00:06 - and the way the hunts vanish within an hour or two max - is a little like a shark feeding frenzy.

I miss being able to log on any time, and still be likely to find a hunt in progress.

Maybe if the favors were dribbled out at random times - like "You got the bartender to tell you the waiter had the next key - but the waiter was called away for an errand and they didn't know when she would be back" You would have to keep checking back, since the time the 'waiter' came back would be unpredictable. Also teammates who came in at other times could help more.

This would be good in the ways you have stated, bigdoc, but also, I think, possibly annoying as I might have a couple of hours to play and not be able to do anything for a hunt during that time /even though/ there was a hunt in progress.

I like the idea which has been posted elsewhere of having a new hunt begin when the last one ends.

That way there would always be a hunt, and the agencies who won the first one from that faction would likely have a harder time winning the rest as they would have fewer cases left and therefore fewer favors.

However, there is a glitch to that idea, too. If there were no limit to the number of hunts, and they just kept reappearing, treasure would cease to be so special.

Also by the end of the day, the level of skill and coordination of agents needed to win a hunt would go down as agencies used up all their cases, so that the agencies that had not been working so far would have a much better chance of winning with what seems guaranteed to be less effort - though some luck would still be needed.

Solution?

I've been trying to avoid offering this bit of advise because I try to look out for my agency's best interests, and sharing this may not be. The solution to everyone's hunt maladies is in the recruiting. This site has agents on 24/7, but I've noticed that very few do any active recruiting other than posting something in the message board. Most are simply looking for agents with certain contacts, rather than looking for availability. My agency has agents from Europe and U.S., which gives us almost around the clock activity. It may be something to consider, because it works for us.

maybe having the hunts come out at random times, and making them longer even?

Chron: we have discussed that in our agency previously.. amongst some of us.. and our problem lies in finding someone who wants to log in every day and do the leg work!! lol oh well.

I don't want hunts starting immediately. I'll look into random start times.

For now, I've made a couple of adjustments that may help...
