I went to the church to have an audition, and I did what they told me, I went to the bank and took the quiz. I got 2 of the 3 questions right, so they said that faction liked me more now.
but I went back to the church and they won´t let me get the skills and the other stuff, I can only buy the items (too expensive for a newbie like me), coz they say they need to know me better.
by knowing better they mean, I should subscribe?
I really want the pick lock so please answer

speaking of which, how is Hypnotism used, and what exactly does it do? I've been working with the Order of Socrates for a couple of days now, and tomorrow I'll have enough points to learn it.

After I learn it, is there anything I need to be worried about with my relationship to the OoS? I mean, I can't join an Agency, so I can't do treasure hunts, and I can't afford anything from them, so...now what? What can I do to start building a relationship with the other gangs?

Hypmotism works (when it does work) automatically when you ask a suspect about motives. Faction standings will drop nightly to about 10. Then you will have to do cases that affect faction standings until you get a +1 for your chosen faction and start the little jobs all over again.

I have to say (yet again) that I HIGHLY recommend getting a complete set of interview and crime scene skills before buying faction skills.

Andrea is giving great advice. Getting your advanced interview skills and advanced smart skills are much more helpful than any faction skill.

Hypnotism works less than 50% of the time (from my experience). When you ask a suspect about others motives they will might give you an X number of people and IF the hypnotism works, you will get one more name and motive from them, but it will probably be one you already have anyway. (again from my experience, as I just bought this skill in the past month)

You really only need to worry about the factions if you want to buy something from them, and then you should work to get to 30+ with them, so the prices are at the lowest.

thanks a lot, I got lost in the picking stuff... but pick pocketing seems nice too xD
Im glad that my topic helped other ppl too, Im thinking of getting interrogation, hair analisys and stuff like that first.
it´s good to have friends in gangs anyways, very useful.

pick pocketing is rather useless in the grand scheme of things... You can only use it in the rare instances that your client is guilty. There are much more useful skills out there!
