I have a couple of questions I'd like some feedback on. Please Answer by replying to this post.

1) Is the game fun? Really fun, kind of fun, funner than going to the dentist?

2) Can you think of anything that would make the game more fun?

3) Is the game too hard? Too easy?

Thanks
-Ben

1. Funner is not a word! More fun is correct grammar.
2. I hope so!
3. I agree.

Treasure hunts for small agencies! Can you run a few treasure hunts that are limited to agencies of 5 or fewer members? We don't want to grow into a major corporation, but we are at a significant disadvantage compared with agencies with 10 or more.
Maybe smaller rewards?

I'd love for the most recent posts to appear first, rather than have to go to the last page to read the latest postings.

I disagree with that. I like reading replies in the order posted, backwards threads confuse me.

Today's downtime is relatively less speedy than usual. I experienced a lag in loading of pages once around 6.57am, and again at 8.57am - server time.

Ben, is this a cause for concern? It makes toggling between pages quite sluggish, and makes me realise how sleepy I really am.

THis wouldn't by chance be part of your ethical strategy to keep sleuths healthy, right....?

No sorry about that. Server load has been inching up, and mornings are always the bussiest time.

The solution is better hardware, I'll be purchasing a much more powerful web server shortly. I wanted to wait a few weeks, because the game hasn't quite made enough to cover the cost yet (I'm trying to keep it as close to self-sufficient as possible), but I've noticed the server being slow often too.

So, I'm in the market now. If anybody out there has a nice rack-mountable dual processor server they want to sell me cheap, give me a holler. Otherwise I'm going to be trolling ebay for a deal.

Ben, it's prolly that I check the boards several times a day and it saves me a lot of time if the latest posts show up first. Maybe there's a way to let people choose how the posts are sorted? You could keep it the way it is, I could sort the other way around? Just brainstorming.

The new game server is on the way. I should have it set up by the end of the weekend. The bad news is that I'll probably have to shut down the game for a couple of hours, sometime next week, so I can install the new server. The good news is, it should run much faster after that, and hopefully, we'll be able to get a lot more players involved.

I'd suggest making a new message board for "Troubleshooting" or "Questions About Cases" or something when someone feels something is going wrong -- to separate from more general Sleuth Talk.
