I have a couple of questions I'd like some feedback on. Please Answer by replying to this post.

1) Is the game fun? Really fun, kind of fun, funner than going to the dentist?

2) Can you think of anything that would make the game more fun?

3) Is the game too hard? Too easy?

Thanks
-Ben

1. A lot of fun. I could do this every day for years.
2. You could give us some clue as to the clues. Example: I just dropped a favor case where the only evidence I could collect, physical or personal, pointed to either of two suspects, both of whom had alibis that checked out. Now, if this were a detective novel I'd assume that two suspects covered for each other, or someone else planted evidence. But according to your help menu, an alibi means that the suspect is innocent--so that means that I'm left without a case. On a similar note, sometimes the murder scene is a blood bath, sometimes it's carefully arranged. I'm not sure if that's a clue, or if it's just randomly picked. It doesn't seem to affect the case.
3. I've been doing easy cases and getting stumped! I don't know...maybe it's because i've got only Smarts skills so far. Usually I find myself with two pieces of physical evidence, and a cartload of witnesses that clam up the moment I try to ask them for personal evidence. I wind up having to bribe the shoe maker or the bank teller so I can get an extra guess.

1) I'm finding the game great fun. I couldn't access it over the weekend (I don't know if the server was actually down or if it was a thing between Europe and the US or something), and I realised I was actually addicted when I couldn't get to play ;) I think the daily mystery limit is a wonderful thing. It means I still get to have a life as well...

2) I'm looking forward to all the special stuff you keep adding (politics, agencies etc...) I haven't got specific suggestions, really, just what you know anyway: the more there is to do, and the more complex the game is, the more fun. But it seems to be coming along great!

3) I find the game just right. It's not dead simple, but once you know what you are doing, you can find a good level for yourself and solve most cases. I've progressed to Hard level and I'm finding that good for me at the moment. I think the people who complain about it being too hard are just trying to progress too quickly.

P.S. Did you name the agent (or someone, I can't remember exactly - 'we've been tracking them down for ages and now we'll never find them thanks to you') in one of the sub-plots 'The Kitten' before I picked my detective name? What a weird coincidence :)

A comment on what Manfred von Richthofen says up there: How is solving 3/4 too easy? If you have that high a failure rate, surely you'll end up spending all your money on getting your record cleared by the Shady Character!

Hah, Yes Kitten, you're pretty famous around here.

Actually, that gives me an idea...

Kitten,
Some of us who found it too hard at the hard level simply picked the wrong skills when we were purchasing them earlier. Now with a better understanding of the game, I know which skills will most likely help my particular character type and can try to focus on getting those. Unfortunately, once you've "wasted" the opportunity to make a good match, you have to solve a lot more cases to earn the "proper" skills.

A fair point, Fat Chuck. I completely understand how you could drive yourself to a near dead end (or, to put it more accurately, a stretch of painfully slow progress) like that, through no real fault of your own. I may have sounded like I was blaming it all on players' impatience up there, and I acknowledge now that the situation may not be so simple.

And - wow, I've (indirectly) given the administrator an idea! My good deed of the day is done.
