I have a couple of questions I'd like some feedback on. Please Answer by replying to this post.

1) Is the game fun? Really fun, kind of fun, funner than going to the dentist?

2) Can you think of anything that would make the game more fun?

3) Is the game too hard? Too easy?

Thanks
-Ben

Suggestions:
1) For random mysteries, one (or more) clues should be randomly imbedded in either the plot, the murder scene, the twist, or even the suspect interviews. Let's say I go and talk to a suspect and, in addition to the normal text, it says "Welcome detective. I just got back from the butcher." That would be a clue that the butcher knows something about the case. It would be a way to implement gossip. In this example, maybe the suspect told the butcher that she knew/didn't know something about the case. Or maybe she informs the butcher that someone else does/doesn't know or whatever. Ideally this clue would be useful at the time it comes. A clue that the butcher knows something shouldn't *first* arrive after talking with the butcher.

2) Decreasing the amount of clicking for the sake of clicking would be nice. Examples:

a) After asking a suspect for his/her alibi (or whatever), list all the options left for that witness instead of "Ask another question" and "leave".

b) List each suspect's physical traits on the case page instead of having to click on the suspect.

c) On locations with 2 contacts (e.g. Bank with banker and vault) automatically go to the main contact with an option to go to the secondary contact. The bar sort of does this by listing the "Talk to the Shady Character" when you're talking with the bartender. Just skip directly to that page.

3) List the evidence against a suspect on the suspect page.

Sherlock - I'm with you on decreasing the amount of clicks needed. I don't know what the technical implications of this are, but this is the only aspect of the game I find frustrating, so anything to improve it is OK with me!

Further to Sherlock's #2, I'd also like to nominate that if you go to ask a contact about a piece of PE, it automatically tells you immediately who it belongs to, rather than making you click through all the suspects. This would significantly reduce server load, I would have thought, without affecting game play in any way.

Also (I don't know where to put this so I'm putting it here!) could the new player tutorial be updated so it looks like the rest of the game? My poor husband is confused enough already... ;-)

One point about the amount of clicking. We as subscribers do not see the banner ads. But each page you have to click on as an unsubscribed user means you see one more ad. More click = more ads (hopefully equals) more revenue.

You know what would make the game really, REALLY fun? An interview with the guy who wrote it... ;-)

I am working my way to the upper levels and find the solving of cases is becoming somewhat routine although still challenging.

I would like to have more motivation than points and money -- something like having to compete for a prestigous position within the city -- e.g. Superintendent of Detectives with special privledges for my agency and myself. Competing on a regular basis (like hunts) to keep my position.

I would really like to trade in my township favors and this could be done by bribing, conjoiling other township members or something similar into trading favors.

Lastly, I would like to choose which hunt to put my favor to when the agency is involved in numerous hunts.

Just some thoughts.....

I think it would be nice if we're allowed a certain number of cases per week (rather than per day), perhaps maybe only for subscribers. Essentially, we'd start the week with 70 cases, instead of starting every day with 10.

The rationale for this is that I think most people play either mostly on the weekend or mostly during the week. I almost never use my cases during the weekend (except maybe to throw a few into the case files for other folks at my agency). This would allow me to put all my cases to good use.

I agree with Eraine, weekly case instead of daily case would be a lot better.
