Buying Skills for The Unread Will

Hey, I'm working on The Unread Will. I tried it yesterday, but ran out of money before I could figure it out, so I had to quit. Well, today I have almost $2K, so I think I have enough to bribe all the people.

My question is, which skill should I buy before I start the case?

I remember one of my problems yesterday was that when people clammed up, I could only use my interrogation skill, and that wouldn't work all of the time.

Here are the skills I can buy:

Stress Detection
Sweet Talking
Rule Bending
Judge of Character
Advanced Hair Analysis
Flirting

I don't want Stress Detection yet, but I can't decide which of the other ones is more important.
Should I get Sweet Talking so that I can either use that or Interrogation for the suspects?
Should I get Judge of Character so that I know which one to use on them?
Should I get rule bending so that I don't have to blow a bunch of money?
Should I get Advanced Hair Analysis so that I can narrow down my suspects?
Or should I get Flirting...for whatever reason.

I'm at a dilemma, and I don't want to have to quit this one again. Can somebody give me an opinion?

Without knowing wht skills you already have, it it slightly more difficult to answer your question, but I will try.
Being that you are smart and charming, I would stay away from all tough skills until much, much later in the game. I would get the interview charming skills: rule bending, sweet talking and flirting. As far as the smart skills, I would buy the more expensive ones first, such as Handwriting Analysis and Research since skill points come very fast at your level. Judge of character is of no use to you now and stress detection is a nice to have, but really rather optional.
Also, I would like to add that FMs are considered much harder than random cases of the same level, so u might consider waiting until you have a more complete set of skills and better equipment.

Thanks for the tips.

I already have Research, which makes life much easier. =D
I don't have Handwriting Analysis, but do have Advanced Thread Analysis.
I'm probably going to get sweet talking, because sometimes interrogation doesn't work.

How long are the FMs available for non-subscribers to access them? 'cuz if I only have a day, then I probably won't ever be able to try this one again.

There is no time limit for FMs. You will always be able to access them. However, when you sub, you will have access to more FMs, more daily random cases, travel, agencies, treasure and villain hunting, and much more.

Alright, I've done a bit more work.

Here's what I have:

Research
Sweet Talking
Interrogation
Advanced Thread Analysis
Hair Analysis

Here's what I can buy:

Stress Detection (7 skill points)
Rule Bending (7 skill points)
Advanced Hair Analysis (7 skill points)
Flirting (5 skill points)

I'm wondering where I should go from here. I've heard that I should just wait until I can buy the more expensive ones first. I'm playing the Hard cases, but I think I'll need either stress detection or rule bending soon so that I don't have to worry TOO much about what I'll do when suspects or people clam up on me.

As per my previous response: get the charming interview skills first: rule bending, sweet talking, advanced sweet talking and rule bending and flirting. Stress detection will not help you unclamm suspects. It is just a nice to have skill.

And also, suspects will always clamm up eventually. There are only so many questions you will be able to ask, no matter how good your equipment or skills.

Also:

The unread will is a featured mystery. Those are harder then "normal" cases. Most of them are for subscribers only. The reason you can open the unread will is that Ben hopes to atract new subscribers by affording this one for free.
There will be no other FMs you can do, if you wont sub. And this one wont change or dissapear. So wait till you have more exp and skills before you try it again.
