Lucian slipped out of the agency headquarters in secret. He didn't want to disturb Elka or Chelsea, or any other agent in the establishment. He crept to the Ritz in total darkness, save for the eerie glow of an occasional street lamp.

The looming figure in the alleyway crevice was highlighted by a shimmering cigarette. The tall man stared, then straightened himself.

"Evening, Ty. Didn't forget our little appointment, I see."

Lucian smiled.

"How could I? I've been waiting for this moment for weeks."

The mysterious gentleman took a drag on his cigarette stick before revealing a wrapped parcel. It was put together quite hastily, with frayed rope and dirty brown paper. The man, eyeing his treasure, slipped it into Lucian's hands.

"Keep it safe. I expect it back in three day--"

A gunshot boomed overhead and the man collapsed on the filthy street, blood gushing from a fatal headwound. Lucian, still gripping his parcel, rushed to the man's side. But it was too late -- he was dead.

There was no one in sight. Just darkness and the glow of the occasional street lamp. Lucian ripped open the parcel to reveal...

Letters…

Many Letters…

A stack of letters dating from the late 1800s… The first of which was a letter posted from London to New York: the handwriting upon it was hardly legible. Nevertheless, Lucian Ty managed to read that letter’s few lines –it was obvious that the letter was written in great haste:

“Dearest Aisha,

My dearest, I am writing to inform you that the child is safely with me now and that she will be well-cared for. You need not think of her again.

Madhuri has agreed that we should raise her as if she was our own, and escape any unnecessary scandal. You shall be paid in full for your discretion and all your worries.

I shall name her Violet, the colour you wore when we first met. I hope that she grows up to be half the woman her mother was. Stay well clear of danger and please disassociate yourself from Frank. I hear the man is no good.

Please do not visit me ever again. That was Madhuri’s only condition for forgetting the strain of this whole incident, welcoming this beautiful girl into our family, and raising her as her own.

Yours very truly,

Sir Albert Parr.”

Lucian understood nothing from this and decided to go through the rest of the letters in due course.

As he rifled through the crispy papers, he came across a ticket. Its stub was still intact, and the date was, oddly, for the future.

With it came a small slip of paper.

"Frank,

Board the ship and take it to Delhi. I will meet you at the docks there. Watch out for the enemy.

Until then,

Q"

Lucian took the ticket and the slip and stuck them in his pocket. He took the bundle of letters and left the body in the alley. He pondered over the letter from Sir Albert Parr, as well as the slip from Q. Who was sending Frank to Delhi? Why? As he thought deeply, a letter blew from the bundle. He raced to catch it, but before he could, he slipped and stumbled. The bundle fell with him. Papers were everywhere.

When Lucian recovered himself, only five letters remained. The rest had scattered in the cool night winds. Moaning in horror and desperation, he quickly picked up the remaining letters. Thankfully, the one from Sir Albert Parr was among them. Two of them were from a woman named Margaretta to a man named Clive, one was a list of strange items to a person named L, and the last was a small notice that seemed of little importance.

With what he had left, Lucian marched back to the headquarters. But before reaching it, a shadowy figure blocked his path. The mysterious shadow stepped forward...

Out of the shadows came a well-dressed, seemingly well-mannered gentleman. He was approximately in his mid-fifties. The man was very imposing, apparently powerful, and seemed to be alone. The man smiled at Lucian and took a few steps forward in his direction.

“Mr. Ty, it is a pleasure to meet with you, though under these unfortunate circumstances.” The man spoke with a crisp New York accent.

Lucian did not speak, but looked at the man with skepticism.

“I am Mr. Frank Georges, and though you may not know who I am, your friend there…” Mr. Georges nodded to the area where the man was shot earlier. “…had a few documents that belonged to me… personal documents… letters belonging to my wife… reports given to me in confidence by various clients.”

Lucian spoke finally. “Mr. Georges, you have the wrong man. I have never heard of you before and I do not have anything to do with your wife or any of her letters.”

“My boy,” Mr. Georges started. “I have just received a telegram informing me that my wife has gone missing, viciously kidnapped by a woman in violet and her sidekick goon. Would you not help an old man find his wife?”

Mr. Georges stretched out an open palm to Lucian. Lucian contemplated his actions for a moment and then proceeded to act…

Arsenio ran fast, he had to get to Frank before she gets to him...

Arsenio turned a left around the corner and found it. The alleged headquarters. "Violet must already be here, I have to get Frank out of there! He doesn't know Violet is a danger to him!" Arsenio took out his revolver and opened the door with haste.

"Violet get away from him!" Arsenio nudged the door open and aimed the revolver at the people infront of him. It was just Lucian.

"Lucian! Oh God I thought you were Violet!"

"Violet? What would you want with dear sweet Violet?" Frank asked Arsenio. "Frank Violet is a danger to you! Don't you know that her family has hated you for years?"

"HATE ME? Oh dear boy why would they do that! I have done nothing wrong to them! I have been friends with the Parrs for years! Why would they hate me?"

"Your wife and son."...
