there are soooo many agencies to choose from. Here r my Qs:

1)Any suggestions on how to make my choice? Since im a newbie, should i join an up-n-coming agency n help build it up? Or should i join a more established one so i can learn the ropes n be an apprentice?

2) Ive browsed thru some of them in the directory n i dont really knw wat to look for in an agency. What does max file per detective mean?

3)Most of the down payments are waaay to0 high over my budget and i cant afford it, so how do i pay this? And the rent.

4)If theyre in different cities do i have to move there?

5) What IF i decide to change agencies one ive been recruited to one? Is that possible? And r there any consequences?

6) How do i get involved in treasure hunts and catching villians? Coz now all i seem to do is solve regular cases n i want me action! ;)

thanks all.

ok if i miss anything then i apologise :)

1. I personally would say as a newbie you should join an established agency as they have the knowledge and experience to help you. Chances are they have a few sneaky tips for helping you solve cases easier too. Of course the choice is up to you.

2. Max case files is the amount of cases you can store at any particular time in that particular 'office'. This is handy if you need another agents comtact to finish a case.

3. If you dont want to join an agency and want to start your own instead ask around there may be someone else in your position who wants to start an agency and that way you can share the costs.

4. Yes you will need to move to the city where your agency is. You can be in other cities but you wont have access to case files, crime lab, equipment locker etc if you do.

5. No one is going to force you to stay with the same agency forever, however if you do decide you want to change agency it is commen courtesy to inform your directors of your decision. Also return any equipment and/or money you have borrowed from them.

6. Some agencies participate in treasure hunts and some dont. If you want to treasure hunt then make sure you check with the agency that you plan on joining as to whether they hunt or not. To catch villains you need to have over 100k and be able to solve almost impossible cases.

Ok so i hope that helps and wasnt too confusing :)

Again that varies from agency to agency. Most established agencies do send you money to get across to the country where they are based. Even if they dont i'm sure if you explain your situation they could loan you the money and then you can pay back in installments.

Hi Luthien. Sleuthbot's right on the mark with all of her answers. While lots of newbies do choose to open up their own agencies, either on their own or with several friends, I'm also gonna suggest you go with an established agency for a bit until you get your feet on the ground. They can help you out with your cases and contacts, answer questions you'll have, give you some new friends you didn't know you had, and provide you a place to call home. Established agencies also usually are in a better situation to help you out with financial problems that can arise, such as travelling expenses and problems with shady. Remember, though, that each agency is different, just like each detective is different. So get to know the agency, just as they'll want to get to know a little about you.

Three other things to remember. Almost all of the agencies will have some rules they will expect you to follow. Find out what they are before you sign up, so you know what to expect. Secondly, most agencies will charge rent for their more established agents (almost all agencies DON'T charge rent to newcomers for the first couple of weeks while people get established with their new firm). Find out how much the agency charges their Agents, Officers, and even Directors, and figure out if that's a sum you're willing to pay (most of the time it's a reasonable amount, otherwise the Agency wouldn't be in business very long). Lastly, please remember that the better you treat the people in the Agency, the harder they will work to help you, and the more they will like you. Directors want to help their people just as much as you want to help them.

I hope this has helped a bit. Good luck here in Sleuth, and Happy Hunting. You shouldn't have much of a problem finding a home. Take care. ;-)
