In honor of that lousy waste of a month February being over, I have decided to hold the first-ever Sleuth March Madness Tournament!

The premise is pretty simple. We compile a list of 64 of the game's most recognizable players, seed them into a tournament bracket, and allow Sleuthville to vote for the "best" in each matchup.

Rules for eligibility:
You must be subscribed and over 30 days old
You must PM me with your intent to enter the tournament or to nominate an eligible member for the tournament. If you are nominating someone, you must also be subscribed and older than 30 days.
Entries and nominations should be messaged ASAP. As soon as we get 64, the seeding process will begin and the matchups will be posted.

After the initial bracket is filled, I will post a few matchups here every day. Then, the people involved in those matchups will have an opportunity to say "anything" on this thread that they feel will allow them to advance to the next round of competition. Sleuthville votes will be what decides the winners, and voting information will be coming soon.

The overall winner of this tournament will receive $100,000 sleuth cash.

Please begin sending your nominations and entries to me ASAP, and good luck!

Many thanks to Lady Jas for nominating me. I'm not sure what I'm the best at other than perhaps being the oldest Sleuther working hard at staying young in mind, body, and spirit.........solving cases and reading detective novels for my mind, plenty of exercise for my body, and karaoke for the spirit. I do a mean Bob Segar and Jerry Lee Lewis. :)

Thanks again to Lady Jas.

ROFLMFAO while Resisting urge to stuff cotton in my cheeks and do a cheesy Marlon Brando imitation. Tinuviel, you have never ceased to bring a bright moment in my day. :)

Bravery? ::chuckles:: Sometimes that's just a euphemism for too stubborn to listen. ::grins:: and sometimes the only reason you walk into that fire is because of the sharp stick jabbing you in the ... uh,... posterior.

And now comes a visual of Marlon Brando in a pink tutu and fairy wings with a gold topped wand chasing Puck through the woods yelling, "Just for the night! Just one night!" Ok. Tonight I take the sleeping pill.

I liked to thank Crextin for the nomination and Derringer for his kind words, but more importantly I think Beef rocks and should get your votes.
As his director what I like best about ole Flaps is his dedication to Shaded Legends, his humor, and his integrety.

So if you want to know where's the Beef, I'll tell you he's in the next round of march madness.

First off let me start by saying that I will no way compare or beat out lil Rach...so congrats to her.

Let me also put my two cents in for just a bit. Please eveyrone, if you are voting or speaking on belhalf of someone, make sure you make the right decision. We should be picking someone who is loyal, dedicated, trusthworthy, honest, plays with fairness, is a true leader, and goes out of their way to help others, and always put others first before themselves. Someone who cares for others. Under my other detective I manage to take a fairly new agency and bring it to the number 5 spot in the NY agencies, something I am very proud of. However it was not just me, it was all of my members worked hard and really put their support up for me completely. We should also be voting for the ones that show outstanding leadership skills and someone who is non judgemental. Someone who, eventhough they may not speak out on the boards, you can still tell these qualities by talking to them. We should be looking for the ones who take the time to get to know their agency members and members outside of their agency and make everyone feel welcome and accepted. This is how I live my life, inside and outside of sleuth, and I hope that everyone that knows me can see that.

These are the things I ask you look for when making your decisions. Again, congratulations to everyone for making it this far, and no matter what you all are winners!

Good luck to everyone!

LJ

My two cents for LilRach: She plays the game with integrity, always offering a voice of reason and never speaking rashly or with anger. She is a fantastic director, generous both with her cash :) and with her advice and support. She has had a great deal going on personally this year, and has still managed to be present in the agency on a daily basis. To me she represents the true spirit of the game. With due respect to Lady Jas, who I do not know but can see is a lovely person as well, my vote must go to Lil.

okay I got a couple here. For today:

At risk of offending (hopefully equally) BOTH Israel and Palestine, I'm lookin' at my new boss Ara and I'm saying Yes-Sir Ara-Phat! Funny as hell, great team player and tirelessly devoted to the agency, the game and the community. Plus, she just hooked me up with this great salve to clear up my inner ear disorder, and now I can walk again!

For tomorrow:

1) Need I remind y'all people that it was the Mighty Flaps hisself who busted the werbergate story back in mid-frickin' February??? That's my DAWG, yo! There's enough community service right there to balance out ALL my 7-11 robberies! Plus if you ask nicely he'll TOTALLY show you his beavertail.

2) The J-Ro/Barry match...man that one's a close call! On the one hand you've got the feel good sleuth story of the year in the whole cross-country pork-tasting in a beat-up cube van jamber love saga, which is REALLY cool, but then again there's Barry, who has been holding down class, grace, fair play and all-around good-guyness and serving as a rock in the whole role-play aspect of the game that's blowing up right now.

3) Get on the notorious B.I.G. wagon!!! And not just cause it's what the cool kids are doing ~ there's not too many people I'd vote for over Farmy (still one of the best Sleuth names ever) but the beantown thunderpuss is, in my humble-humble, one of the absolute cornerstones of the place. This is a total package right here...hilarious, sweet and will fight like a sack of rabid possums for you, whether you're right or wrong.

4) I wanna show my support for jas' campaign. She's got all the qualities she's talked about above, she's always got a smile for you and apparently, I am her "l'il skonka", whatever that is :)

Go Jas!

John Q. Publik needs your vote!!

I would like to offer up some words of praise for John. He is one of the tireless directors of al-Qahirah and puts up with us women (and for those of you who know us - you know what a feat that is!!). John is loyal and dedicated (he checked in with us when he was on his HONEYMOON!!). He was the man who recruited me out from under Beef Flaps (sorry, Beef!) with his charisma and friendliness. He was a mentor for me and got me on my feet in Sleuthville. Oh yeah, and have you seen our web site? 'Cause he's responsible for that, too.

John is a man of integrity and honor and should advance forward in his bracket. Plus, he's good looking, too. :)

VOTE FOR JOHN!!

Man, I don't know how I can top what Emerald and Crunch said about me (especially whether right or wrong comment, which is so true lol).

All I will say is, I can say NOTHING bad about Farm, my competitor in this match. She is the absolute best, and if I had to get knocked out by anyone, I would want it to be her.

Ok, NOW, having said that...

VOTE FOR MEEEEEE!!!!! If I am crowned queen, I will work for world peace (long totally stole that from me ;), cute puppies and ice cream for all!

Plus, I'll take down some more tweenies :)

Ooh and also, I have all these great things planned for later rounds as far as arguing for myself (figured I'd start slow and unfunny and it TOTALLY WORKED!!!) so if you want to see how I'm gonna auction myself off, please vote for me now :)

*sniffle* this place is the best!
