PRESS RELEASE - February 19, 1927

Barry Grant Associates is now hiring. We are interested in hiring agents of any experience level for fun and adventure in downtown Shanghai. Currently, there are 3 openings for agents who are dedicated to their careers and the well being of the agency they work at.

By joining Barry Grant Associates, you will receive travel money to Shanghai. When you are promoted to Agent, you will receive a $10,000 bonus. When you are promoted to Officer, you will receive enough cash for the faction item of your choice at the faction's best price. You will be involved in treasure hunts and, of course, role playing.

Please contact either Barry Grant or Roamie to apply for a position. Your application is very important and will be reviewed by the Directors to determine your qualifications. You may apply here or by telegram via a Private Message (PM).

Barry Grant
Founding Director

Roamie
Senior Director

A personal note from the Founding Director:
As some of you may be aware, there was an accusation thrown at Barry Grant Associates. It was a result of a misunderstanding. Barry Grant Associates is actively pursuing unaffiliated agents. We were also considering merging with another agency under the Barry Grant Associates name. However, we realize that that may be a bit overzealous so we are no longer pursuing that.

We will only consider taking in agents already affiliated with another agency if a reference is given from a Director of that agency.

Barry checked the morning post and found some interesting items. He received 2 letters from New York. A very impressive application from a Mr. Christopher Keller and another interesting letter from NY in a violet envelope. A smile crept onto Barry's face as he read the letter written in a flawless hand.

"Mr. Grant,

Good day to you,

Yes I am indeed aware of Mr. Keller’s intentions to move to Shanghai, and to join Barry Grant Associates.

Christopher Keller has been recently moved out of Moonlighting. Yet I assure you that Moonlighting and all its members only have the absolute best wishes and intentions towards Mr. Keller.

If you require further information concerning Mr. Keller's employment at Moonlighting, may I suggest you seek it from Lady Coco or Miss Agatha Misty.

Whatever you ultimately decide, I personally wish both you and Mr. Keller every possible success...

*nods politely*

Violet Parr"

Barry left immediately to send an invitation.

Miss Violet Parr soon heard of the news.

She was glad of the news, and was also ultimately happy Moonlighting decided to let Mr. Christopher Keller go.

"After all," she thought, "We did not want to be responsible for turning Christopher to the bottle."

Well turn me sideways and call me Dolores, turning poor young Christopher to the bottle.

One alchoholic in the agency is already to many I've been told. (hickup)

Is this why my gin has not been as theraputic of late, has someone been replacing it with water?

Roamie opened his brief case and tore a sheet from his Big Chief Tablet. He ripped the top off his black magic marker and wrote in big letters.

"One Opening Left"

Roamie looked at his handywork and taped it to the Application Box.

Barry walked by the application box and spotted the additional noticed posted by his fellow Director. He was happy that Mr. Roamie was taking such an active part in recruitment. But then something caught his eye.

"Holy Majoly!!" Barry actually said out loud and snatched the notice down. "I can't believe he used that secret marker prototype to write up this sign. He must've forgotten what he was using when he was testing it." Barry crumpled up the notice and shoved it to the bottom of his coat pocket.

He looked over both shoulders to make sure he wasn't being watched. "I'm going to have to go back to the agency and write up a new one and remind Roamie to be more careful. We won't be able to get more work as testers of new products. Young Sidney Rosenthal wouldn't trust us again if he saw this."

Barry headed back to the office with the notice tucked way down deep into his pocket and his hand covering it to bring back a new notice.

X.L. Deringer decided to stop by the newstand and pick up a paper on the way to her new office. She was thrilled to be a part of the Barry Grant Associates detective agency. Being so new and being brought into such a great agency was sure to help get her career up and running faster than she could have ever imagined.

Flipping through the pages as she continued to walk to the office she noticed the classified add placed by Director Grant. There was still one more opening in the agency. She couldn't wait to meet the new recruit. She wondered who it would be.

Barry Grant Associates Finds Dagger

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Barry Grant Associates has found the Hidden Dagger of Kathmandu. It is the first treasure found by the newly formed agency. It is also their first attempt.

"I'm very proud of my agents. They all pulled together and made this happen." Director Grant said of his employees. When asked how they were able to solve this case so quickly, Mr. Grant responded with, "No comment."

After doing favors for the several of the townies, including the Barber and Tea Merchant in Shanghai, Director Roamie was able to crack the safe that was holding the dagger. "It was a bit tricky, that safe, but really no match for me."

The agency is still looking for one more detective to round out it's complement. Mr. Grant confirmed this. "Yes, we have another position to fill and will accept an agent of any level of experience. All applicants should contact me or Roamie."

Rebecca Franks read the article about Barry Grant Associates and a smile crept onto her face. She was glad her old boyfriend was doing so well. She was surprised to find he still had one opening in his agency. She wondered how that could possibly be. She knew first-hand how nice it was to work with him and started wishing she was a detective.

Now if only there was a way to win him back....
