Just wondering if it is worth getting. I have 10 skill points at the moment & my character is very charming. Here is a list of my skills so far ...

Hypnotism
Intermediate Sweet Talking
Stress Detection
Sweet Talking
Judge of Character
Advanced Rule Bending
Rule Bending
Footprint Analysis
Hair Analysis
Flirting

Just wondering if Lock Picking would be a useful addition to that list or should I go with Thread Analysis or something like that. Also what sort of things does Lock Picking actually find when you go snooping about peoples homes??

Lock picking is definitely worth it, but I think saving for research might even be better. ;)

*is a research addict*

You know those locked doors you find in your cases? Lock picking allows you to pop inside anyway and find the answer to either the alibi or motive question.

Hi Everybody! Hi Dr. Nick!

Most people around here, I think, would say that lock picking is one of the best non-faction skills you can buy. It works every time, irrespective of your character type and will save you a question with one or two of the people on your suspect list because you find info that is equal to what you would get from asking the motive or alibi questions. Since you've built up interview skills nicely, I'd say go ahead and gobble it up... BUT...

...the other thing I'd think about in your position is saving a couple more to get Research. It also works every time, and in every case you play, it will eliminate one fake alibi from your list of potential baddies.

Hope that helps!

While I agree with cfm and crunch that research is probably more valuable than lock picking, and that lock picking is worth buying as well, I have to advise you to get the thread analysis first.

The thread analysis will allow you to find threads at the crime scene. Without it, you are risking not finding all the evidence and thus possibly not being able to solve the crime.

Arabella, you are lovely. With that list up there I was thinking he was looking for advanced thread, without actually processing what was there.

Dr, Nick, listen to Arabella. She is 100% correct!

*mind melds with cfm*

It's funny when you post at the same time as someone and neither of you properly reads the question, huh? Yup yup - get your thread analysis.
