My only witness claimed up on me. She wouldn't even tell me who she suspected. I am playing on the easy level. My favor case was intermediate. Will that hurt me in the future that I had to quit a favor case.

Not much - in the beginning favour cases are on a level that's a bit higher than what you might play, so sometimes you get lucky and the suspects don't clam up on you, and other times not so lucky. The only effect quitting a favour will have is that you'll need to solve an extra case before you get your next favour :) - oh, and you don't get the reward and experience points that you would have gotten if having solved it, but that's it :)

right - and its a lot better to quit than to risk guessing and getting a false accusation. Three of those and you're out . you can pay off the shady character to get rid of them - its expensive. (and wait til you have two - its the same price for two as for one.)
