I'm playing at intermediate level, my character is very charming. I've also got the skills of interrogation and hair analysis. I've a chemist kit and a razor blade. When can the chemist kit and hair anlysis skill come into use? why can't i find any hair or thread at the crime scene? i've tried advance once, but everyone was clamming up. What could be done? thanks...

As for finding hairs and threads at the crime scene, you will only be able to find these if you have the according skills (i.e. hair analysis and thread analysis.
Now I'm guessing the reason why you haven't been able to find any threads yet is because you don't have thread analysis. As for not having found any hairs despite having hair analysis is because there haven't been any hairs to find at the crime scene in the case you had. Sometimes there just won't be any of a particular kind of physical evidence, but if you have the basic skill you can always be sure to find it if it's there :)
