Todays update added the first in a series of Featured Mysteries. Please post any comments or questions and report any bugs concerning Featured Mysteries here.

Also, please don't post any spoilers about the Mystery itself on the boards, or at least warn if you are going to.

Thanks,
Enjoy.

Oh, and I should mention that after playing trying a couple of times to get through it, I was pretty surprised to find that one of the suspects that appeared the first time, didn't appear the next couple of times. He's mentioned, but doesn't ever appear as a suspect.

There is one suspect that is not revealed through the motive question, and must be revealed through another method.

I'd love to create a mystery in exchange for a free subscription.

Has anyone submitted any featured mystery? Or writing one?

I am trying to finish mine. It is *almost* *almost* done. It's growing mightily long and wordy, too. It has grown much longer than I had expected. Still don't know if it's any good, though. *struggle*

How is everyone progressing, those who are working on theirs?

My second one is getting close to finished.

I was wondering whether anybody would be interested in having a race. I could announce before-hand when it will be playable. That way, people could start at the same time. The first person to finish it would earn a prize.

Would anybody be interested?

Definitely. The last one came out after I had already used up my mysteries for the day, so I had to wait to play it. Knowing when it will be released ahead of time would be great; a race would be even better. :)

Great, I'm looking forward to the 2nd Featured Mystery.

Announcing ahead of time is good, but I'm not sure about a time-based race. Personally, I would prefer to sit back and enjoy it at a leisurely pace. If I were thinking about beating someone at it, I would likely miss some aspects of the story.

Then again, I can always choose not to take part in the race, if there is one.

I'm trying to think of a better way for a contest that is not time-based, but can't think of a better alternative. I was thinking along the lines of rewarding the person who not only completes the mystery, but also uncovers all physical and verbal evidence and has all questions answered the first time. Or alternatively, the person who completes the mystery with the most "efficient" route, that is, by asking the least number of questions.

But there could problems with these. They could be technically hard to implement? Also there are likely to be more than one winner. Hmm...

I do have the concern that people will just start accusing people randomly, possibly blowing through it five or six times in a row just to be the first person to solve it...

Could there be a rule that says once you make a false accusation in the featured mystery, you're out of the official 'race'?

I would definitely include the rule about not having a false accusation or quit first. So the first person to get through it on the first try would be the winner.
