Sorry, honey. BTDT, that's for sure. I have a Valentine this year but I bet there are plenty of single Sleuthettes who might like to be your Valentine this year. Maybe we should have a Sleuth dating service!

I have a dude, and I'm totally willing to barter him off for Valentine's Day. Contact me.

Some day Sleuth can afford it's own "airforce one" for long distance dating :-)

This might not be the right time or place to say that Valentine's Day is kinda sickening. The world turns red and pink, heart-shaped chocolates, heart-shaped balloons, heart-shaped cards, heart-shaped food, heart-shaped boxes, heart-shaped hearts...
Restaurants are booked and charge more money, and the ants come marching two by two, hurrah!

Why should there be a fixed date for "Love"? What if I'm just not in the mood and would rather "have a headache tonight, honey"?
I just think any day can be Valentine's day, and it doesn't have to be once a year that we go out of our way to show it. It's even better when it comes unexpectedly, instead of it becoming a duty.

yep Tinuviel!

not much to add! Valentine's day is like carneval - which is at least one day in the year people behave different..........

Well, what's the point not having carneval every day?

Same with Valentine's Day!!!!

I am one that will not have a valentine this year. Tin, after what happened to me, I'm not sure if I want one anyways! So I'll end up staying at home as usual.

But, for those of you that do have a valentine, have fun and make it special!

I know, Lady Jas. Same here. I guess we can just hope it was all for the best.

Well I'm not going to let one day of the year ruin this month for me, especially when, as Tinuviel pointed out, the holiday is as advertised and pink as it is. It's just more difficult seeing that singleness is slapped in one's face like burnt salmon by Walmart and all of those Yancy-Streeter greeting card companies.

At the least, I'm taking the time to help cheer one of my sister's friends up, who's as single as I but across the country. That's something to celebrate (the cheering up; not the sadness, of course).
