How do you get contacts? Like the priest and bartender and stuff.

You get contacts by doing favors for the townspeople.

Read the Newbie FAQ (at the bottom of the page), The Help (upper right) and the Welcome Newbies thread (sticked to the top of the Newbies forum) for more information.

OK I read the Newbie FAQ forgive me if this was answered before I just am having a hard time figuring it out. I played this game before but I did not play for a while. It seems to me getting contacts last time was much easier. With my new detective I have 325180 experience points already I do a favors every 4 cases and I still have not received my P.E. contact. Does anyone know why this is or if there is anything I should be doing differently.

I don't think that there is anything you should be doing differently, Fly. Contacts can take some time to come by. Just keep doing what you are doing and you will (eventually) get them!

From the first page of the Welcome Newbies thread at the top of this board....

"What are CONTACTS and HOW do I get them? (Thank You, Moonshh, Im stealing your words from another thread.)
You'll get two contacts in each city (if you are subscribed)...eventually. ((One PE contact, (barber, banker, tailor, shoemaker) and one none PE contact (fortune teller, bartender, waiter, etc.)) You get them by doing favors. You know how at the end of a favor the person you did the favor for usually gives you something? Well, sometime, instead of giving you something, the person will tell you they'll be of service to you in the future. That person will then be your contact, which means they will NEVER CLAM up on you! Really! You can just ask them all the questions you want, and they will answer them all!"
