Ok I won a favor case -
I currently have a golden turban which is +2 smarts.. I won a Rattlesnake Cowboy hat which is +3 Tough.. Since I am smart/charm archtype I think I would keep the turban.. but want a second opion.... I'm sitting at -1Tough right now.

Get the stuff that matches your archtype. I.e. keep the turban. Don't care about the -1 tough. Unless you are still using for interrogation etc.
You will find yourself at some point only using your charm to bend rules or sweet talk. If you don't already.

I'm totally wet-behind-the-ears, but was also thinking that, since you are already doing charm and smarts, trying to take the tough too is perhaps spreading things a bit thin. Maybe you can store it in the agency vault for another player to use? Or sell it and buy something from your faction that would enhance your smart or charm. That -1 means nothing unless you are commonly using, or very dependent upon, a skill that requires tough. Ceana has a negative charm. So what? She's like Velma from the Scooby Doo cartoons, only not so geeky. :-P

Great that means I will have enough to buy the Fine Leather Trenchcoat with money to spare... I'll wait a couple more cases so I have plenty for bribes. :) WHOHO.. IT will also equalize my tough anyway hehe. And I will be + 5 Charm then.

Oh and Ceana the agency angle is a good idea, but I am not a subscriber... need to dig up some $$ somewhere ;)

I think buying stuff unless you are great on a faction, is not worth it. Especially if you can win it 10 seconds later on a favour.
Now joining an agency, gives you the best items that you need. Well if you join demons deed that is. <shameless plug> :)
