NEW YORK (Reuters) - Police investigators believe they have discovered the whereabouts of missing detective, Barry Grant. Grant was reported missing three days about by a friend of his, Rebecca Franks. "I was supposed to meet him at Big Lucy's that night but he never showed."

Grant, Global Sleuth Syndicate Ambassador from Shanghai, had been working at the Blue Pagoda Agency on a Good Will mission at the time of his disappearance. "He was becoming a much relied upon detective." Lady jasNmushu, a Director at Blue Pagoda Agency, said of the missing detective.

Police have reason to believe that Grant was abducted by operatives from HYDRA while on his way to Big Lucy's. "I was meeting him at the corner of Eleventh Avenue and 42nd Street that night." recounted a teary-eyed divorcee Mrs. Franks. "He never showed."

Chief Inspector James Mulligan was able to determine the last place Grant was seen. "Cyrus Tibby recalls serving Mr. Grant a Tom Collins around 7 pm that night. After that, Mr. Grant left the premises and that was the last anyone had seen of him."

This reporter secured an interview with the elusive Larry the Toe. "I don't know anything about that." was his response to all my questions.

There was a break in the investigation when a shady character finally stepped forward to reveal he saw a tall man with a hat being forced into a car. This shady character, who prefers to remain anonymous, was unable to make out the license plate number but he recognized the car and the man doing the abducting. "I've seen that happen before. Same guy. Same car."

Policed will not disclose any more details for fear it could put Mr. Grant's life in jeopardy. Chief Inspector Mulligan's final word: "We don't want to lose any more detectives to that fiendish group."

All the tension of the last few days began to fade away. She could not believe how close Barry had come to being gone forever. This had happened before to her and she vowed it would never happened again.

Leaning against him, she kissed him back, careful with his wounds but not detered by them.

Outside, the sun began to the fade. It was dark when she went outside and told the guards to escort her back to her quarter.

He watched the city streets go by. Yang as normal circled the block to be sure no one was following.

Barry needed to be moved out of there, it would be better to have him where lots of eyes could see him.

As the car came around the corner he saw that woman by the light post. She was hiding from who he did not know. Then he saw her dart towards the hospital building.

"Yang!"

"On it"

Screeeeeeechhhh

Ran threw open the car door and SNATCHED Amanda around the waist. Tosses her into the back seat with him and slams the door shut.

"Some place safe Yang", he called over to the driver.

The next thing Amanda knew she was being picked up and thrown into a car.
"Hey!! What do you think your doing!? Help!!" She tried to yell, but the door to the car slammed shut before she could stop it. She looked up and saw Ran. "What do you think your doing?!" She yelled at him.

Barry woke up feeling better than ever. He was feeling so good, he wanted to get out of bed.

Feeling he had nothing to lose by trying, Barry started to get up slowly. He swung his legs over the side of the bed and put his feet on the ground. While holding the side of the bed, he tried to stand up.

He managed to stand up and now he was ready to let go of the side of the bed. He did. A smile crept onto his face. He took a few steps towards the chair and then back to the bed. He felt pretty good.

Now it was just a matter of getting the release from the doctor. He laid back down and closed his eyes. He started to think about all the things he had to do when he was finally released.

The door sharply swung open. Barry turned quickly, consciously and defensively towards the strong sound of the door slamming against the hospital room wall.

A nervous, confused young woman stood there puzzled, her hand up in the air as if she was about to knock the door. Huge dark sunglasses were covering the majority of her face, and a violet scarf held her long dark hair back behind her shoulders.

Confused, Barry silently looked at her. She nervously looked at him. Finally, she decided to speak break the nervous silence. "Well, you have to admit that it was quite a memorable mesmerising entrance."

Barry, still mentally drained, physically tired, and somewhat confused, uttered three single words: "Who are you?"

"Oh how utterly absurd this must seem to you! I am sorry Mr. Grant, though we have casually met once or twice before, we have never been properly introduced to each other. I am Miss Violet Parr... I sent you these African Violets... I see they are not so violet anymore!"

Barry shot a glance at the dying flowers on the largest table in the room, and turned to Violet. "Miss Parr." He reached to tip his hat only to realize that he was not wearing one.

"It is okay." Violet spoke nervously. "We all have these rare moments... I assume you rarely ever venture anywhere without a hat... being the true gentleman that you are."

Barry smiled inquiringly.

Violet glanced at her wrist watch, and quickly said. "Mr. Grant I do not wish that anyone knows of my visit to you. I am visiting you in this hospital out of a sense of duty and humanity. I realize that you are tangled in much trouble currently and..." she swallowed nervously. "Please do not misunderstand me, but I simply do not wish my name to be associated with yours publicly."

Violet Parr tightened the violet scarf around her head, nodded politely and proceeded to leave the room. She stopped at the door and turned to Barry. "This visit must be a highly unusual one. I just felt that I must meet you in person and properly introduce myself... Please stay out of trouble... It will be so much easier to make friends and keep them that way.”

Miss Parr left as quickly as she had arrived. Barry tried to regain his composure. After all, a strange woman just barged into his room, unaccompanied, and him in nothing but a hospital gown.

He called out, "Miss Parr, wait, I have so many questions. How do you know me? Have we met before? What trouble do you foresee? How did you get in here undetected?"

By this time, Miss Parr had already made her way 1/2 way down the hall outside Barry's room. He heard her stop for a moment probably contemplating whether or not she should risk going back and answering those questions.

Miss Parr made her way quickly down the corridor towards the elevator, only to find the hallway blocked halfway down by two incredibly broad-shouldered men in three-pieced suits wearing identically suspicious expressions. "I'm sorry, Miss," the taller of the two said mildly, "I'm afraid you'll need to come with us. You're in an unauthorized area, and you'll need to answer some questions. If you'll come this way, please..."

She found her arm being gently but firmly grasped by the shorter of the two security men, and then she was led away....
