At your level, yes, if only to purchase the book from the fence in the back.

Sorry Ara, I have to disagree.

I don't think its a good use of resources for a young detective to spend his hard earned cash on Lucy. If you can't afford to just give away $500, I wouldn't do it. When $500 isn't such a hardship to recover, then I'd send them off to look for the book.

Cfm, I have to disagree with your disagreement :)

Buying (and reading) that book will give a newbie valuable experience points & skill points, which will help him get new skills, which will help him solve harder cases, which will allow him to earn more money. If he waits too long, the experience points earned by reading the book won't help him.

We save lucy cases just for new people to go visit and get the book for the Skill Points when they are in NY.

Other than that one great resource (for new players who are also subscribed) is to get an invite to someone's apartment who has many of the books. Reading them there will give the same boost. GSS has a couple of apartments scattered through out the cities for this also.

For a listing of the books there are to look for:

I diagree with all your disagreements. :) No, just kidding.

I think that it is up to the detective. Whether they want to or not is their choice.
