Exist such thing as false clue?

On a past case, I had a footprint and a handwrite. The footprint turns out to be from the killer, but the handwrite was from a suspect with a real alibi. Could it be a false clue to difficult things for me?
There is such thing as accomplice?

You might want to try the tutorial case, and also take a look at the Newbie FAQ, linked at the bottom of every page. They are very helpful and will point you in the right direction.

I already did the tutorial case and read the Newbie FAQ, it was helpful but I dind't find this answers there. Thanks anyway.
