How Magnifying Glass help me in a case? Help me find more evidence or just to examine the found evidences better?

It substitute any Skills like Hair Analysis?

If you have any smart skills the magnifying glass, along with all other smart items will increase the chance of your skills working for you.

Items are not substitutes for skills, but more like enhancers.

I was thinking that with the Magnifying Glass I would get more informations about threads and hairs. Like if it was from womans cloth, and the hair was curly.
I guess I was wrong.

To get the information you seek, you must buy those skills.
You have to buy the basic thread and hair skills to find those at the crime scene. You get footprint and notes for free.

Then you must purchase (with skill points) Advanced thread, hair, foot and note to identify them as heavy/slim, male/female, straight/curly, left/right.

The equipment you wear enhances your abilities. If it is high in charm, your charming skills will work better. If it is high in smart, your ability to identify the evidence will work better, once you have those skills.
