Everyone has been so helpful me, thank you!
Soooooo.....I got the dreaded 2 false accusations and went to Shady, who quoted me a price. I didn't have enough cash, so I saved up and went back, but now he's charging more!
I have to stay at hard cases to avoid another false acc, but they only make me so much money. Am I able to catch up with the rising price, while staying at my safety level?
I don't want to lose my detective, but should I risk some really hard cases to make the money, or can I catch up to Shady's charge while staying with hard cases?
Am I just babbling hysteically???

thats a really good question actually. I'm not exactly sure of the increments by which Shady's prices rise, but I don't know that working a higher level will help you, since its based on XP and it will keep going up. You should try to work your favors and sell the items you get.

It might pay off to cycle through a lot of easy cases which wont earn you much XP and therefore keep your Shady bill down for now, and just work on selling your favour items off to earn the cash you need.

It used to (big underlinings under "used to" because it's a long time since I checked, and Ben sometimes changes things, AND an even bigger reduction was introduced for the higher experience levels some months back, but no idea from which level that sets in)...anyway...it used to be so that until you reach 10,000 exp. Shady goes up by 1,2 times the amount of experience a given case is worth, and after the 10,000 the charge goes up by 1/5 of the exp. of a case - but like I said this might have changed.

So just to echo the others, best thing is to work cases at a level you're comfortable at, i.e:
- where you don't risk getting a third false
- where you won't need to quit
- where you'll hardly need to spend any money on bribes as these can really dig into what you actually get out of the reward in the end
- get through as many favours as possible as these give you the higher reward sums

Or since it is very risky to work with 2 falses:
- consider selling some of your current equimpent to clear your record and avoid having to sit with baited breath each time you click "accuse" ;)

Another thing, although probably not really worth it in your case at the moment (doubt that what Shady is charging you is so high up that the travelling costs make up for the difference yet, but later on it's a good deal) - it costs less to pay off Shady in Delhi than in any of the other cities (for some unknown reason, except maybe that the rupee is relatively cheap?), but at the moment it might not be worth it for you when taking the cost of travelling into account as well :)

Last thing, just so you're prepared in case this is the first time you need to pay off Shady, once you've payed him, his charge isn't reset to zero, i.e if/when you get a false again his charge will be what it was when you payed him off plus what it has accumulated into since then through all the cases you've completed :)

Since you're surcribed you should find an agency...you have 6000 XP, believe me, for a detective who earns 1000 bucks a case for 12 cases a day since more than 2 years. The sum you owe Shady is nothing :)
