Some of us might be familiar with handy man and housewife, burglar and victime and heck, maybe even sultan and harem girl.

How does role playing get implemented in Sleuth and what exactly does it require? Who participates in role playing here and who doesn't? How far do you go in role playing? Does it interfere with the way you play the game itself?

Feel free to post anything that comes to mind regarding this subject. As yourself or your character....

P.S. Andrea, you make me blush. You didn't do too badly yourself. You are the queen of subtle and I bow to your royalness.

Nice to see this in one continuous story.

Thank you to Amazing Amanda for the cameo role, hope to see more from you soon.

I personally contributed the gunfire, so you know there are going to be some kick ass fireworks.
What will happen next you ask. Only we at The Closers have the vaguest idea about that.

I haven't done any RPing in Sleuth yet as I haven't subscribed (yet), but it does affect how I play the game. My character is pretty much all about the charm, but I have a Snub Nosed Revolver (toughness 3). Why? Because my character would have a gun. Silly, but there you go :)

You can join in on the roleplaying threads in Gumshoe without subsribing. We have had several new players jump in and add to the stories there recently.

Come on in and try your hand with a short post or three.

The role playing and the casework are two separate entities, in my opinion. Recently, I've posted in some roleplaying stuff in various places about my character doing things like saving somebody's life by doing mouth-to-mouth resuscitation or going after an Arch Villain for information about a kidnapping in the middle of a snowstorm. Both are rather difficult to do in an evening dress and satin slippers, which my character is currently wearing, and wouldn't make much sense to the average reader. ;-)
