did you check with all of the people in the town and everything...reserch your case if you have that, and if that don't work, i would have to say, just give your best educated guess.

I would recommend playing the tutorial first which will help you understand how the mysteries work. Also try reading the welcome newbies thread on the newbie board that should answer almost any question you have.
And NEVER guess. Three false accusations and your detective will be retired. If you aren't sure who the guilty person is then just quit.

One additonal resource is to visit the bar in town and talk to the customers.
Those would be us, your fellow players. When I am there we get a lot of new players who pop in with a quick question and go back to their cases.
If no one else is there just hang out a while and someone typically is by fairly quickly.
