I keep getting the cut scene where the woman stops me at the train, then in the end it tells me I screwed up a police investigation or made a woman not be able to find her long lost son.

Is there a point to these? Like if I quit I get brownie points or cash. Or should I just ignore this cut scene and keep sleuthing

Ma. Andonia,

The cut scenes are for color. However, there are 2 that do affect your Sleuthing. The one with the lady and the magnifying glass will tell you how solving the case will change your standings with 2 of the factions in the city where you are. You will go up in one and down in the other if you solve it. Conversely, if you quit the case, the exact opposite will happen.

There's another one that will give you an additional suspect. I don't remember which one that is but if you discover you have another suspect after a cut scene then that was the one.

And there is the one with Larry in NY. So that makes it 3.

The lovely reda is correct. Keep in mind that you only have one opportunity to take advantage of what Larry has to offer after you have paid him at the end of your case. The opportunity disappears the moment you start another case.
