A place to speculate and post theories on what works and what doesn't work as we solve cases, travel and explore.

I have noticed (thanks to the nudging of my AVL team captain) that when you find the next city your villian runs to it "just happens" to be one of the farthest cities away, not the closest one.

Does this hold water? is it always far away or is it just a perception because I want to finish the hunt as fast as possible?

I can cite from my wife's experience as a hunter that you can have a city order that minimizes travel costs as much as possible (though I don't remember the exact order she had). She was able to pull off a 2-day solve largely because travel costs (in terms of cases) weren't prohibitive.

Nope. I do believe it's random. Last hunt it was Shanghai to Delhi to NY to London. I have had hunts where it's been further away as well. I would be very surprised if it weren't completely random.

My hunts have almost all been cities pretty close together. Last time I went Delhi to Shanghai to London to NY

I've never had a hunt where the next city HASN'T been the maximum farthest distance possible. (shrugs)

To be honest, I think it is random. I have moved from shanghai to delhi, and new york to london, but I have also had to move from new york to delhi (which is really anoying when you have only 3 cases left in the day!)

I have noticed one thing. When you ask a townie if they know anything about the case you're on, and get a "Joe Bloggs thinks he knows who the murderer is" reply, check their alibi. If it is false, then check against all the evidence relating to said suspect, and I think you may be in for a pleasant surprise.

This is not guaranteed obviously, but it has worked for me more often than not. I have only tried on AI cases, where you get 2 replies from townies.

I also had AVH which were really close together (each time only 2 cases for travel). So I guess its random.

NEW QUESTION/IDEA

There are only three townies that will give up information on suspects (think they know or no nothings) regardless of how many WE there may be out there.

Has anyone ever seen more than three? I know there can be less but how about more?

I'm pretty sure on a few rare occasions I've been able to get 4 answers from townies. Can't back this claim up, however... but I'll give it a shot while doing cases today.
