Ok, I know there are several different web broswers people use and I began to think about the problems/benefits to using one over another for Sleuth.

Here is the list I have for web browsers.
Mozilla Firefox
Netscape Navigator
Safari
AOL
Internet Explorer
Flock

Am I missing any? Please provide feedback on your preference and experiences with web browsers.

Personally I have used all of the above web browsers, although I no longer use Safari, Internet Explorer, AOL, or Netscape Navigator.

I used to be a big Netscape user. It had tabbed browsing/intergrated web/mail, themes etc way before everyone else.

But I have converted to Firefox (even though they're both mozilla based) as it seems to be the best cross platform browser. Since I have a PC at work and Mac at home. It has lots of excellent add-ons /themes /extensions.

I wouldn't use Explorer even if you held a chainsaw to my Granny. fullstop.

Safari *shudders* This was such a good idea, and yet for a native Mac ap. doesn't live up to the hype.

Another browser out there that is now cross platform is Opera and if you believe the hype is faster than Firefox for the Mac. I'll be giving it a go.

My last job introduced me to firefox, and I went straigh home and installed it on my PC and laptop. I had to kep IE around though, because I play games on MSN too, and they won't run in anything but IE (as far as I know). I was SO glad when I found the firefox Extension that allowed you to open up an IE tab, now I never have to click on that damned blue E again.

I use Firefox at home, forced to us IE at work.

I have used Opera and it works well for a lot of things, but some of the sites I visit frequently did not display properly.

To add a new browser to the list I use my Palm T|X to log into Sleuth quite often when I am wireless. I can read the message boards, do cases, etc. Just no pop ups for messages or the things that need those.

Helps make those meetings go just that bit quicker.

How can you all love firefox so much? I have to use it at school and quite frankly i'm tired of it! (It may be the school's network though) Its just so slow!!!!!! I just cant stand the way the toolbar at the top is set up i just dont know whats wrong with me but little details like the toolbar menu thing bother the piss out of me.

Must be a network issue, Johnboy. It's lickety-split on mine--we have ADSL and no issues here!

I mostly rely upon Flock because it allows me to upload massive amounts of images and then I have a toolbar that shows my pictures while I surf the net. It also has great compatibility with sites such as Sleuth, although I am very sure Ben has not heard of my browser. I like it because it is fast on my Mac, although I have yet to try it on my Windows machine. It also allows me to post my comics more efficiently :)

Well Firefox 2.0 seems to have an added 'advantage' now, as it seems to be spell-checking all my PM's and posts to the Board. :D

I use Firefox for everything except the Prince's door. I have to switch to explorer for that one. And I love the new spell check Firefox 2.0 has. :D
