Can someone please refresh my memory as to what the exact formulae are to be able to safely accuse a suspect? I'm in my Sleuth senility stage.

I agree with Serges, judging from my own experiences.

Hmmm, did anyone ever come up with statistics what the chances are of a suspect having a PE and WE evidence against him? Or does every case have such a suspect like that by means of a decoy?

i doubt every case has a decoy in that sense, but every case will definitely have 1 suspect with a PE and WE evidence against them. It's just that sometimes, there may be more than one :)

I dunno Serges, maybe BadAss could be right. I mean maybe we have been too conservative about our interpretations of these formulae.

I have gotten an FA because I, too, once thought that PE + WE = Guilty. Trust me, that is not always the case. That was an expensive lesson to learn.

you could be right Sindy, in the sense that each case MIGHT have multiple suspects with both PE and WE... i dont think anyone has done the requisite research to confirm that though, so i wouldn't EVER base a case decision on it...

I'm with John Q. here. Have accused with only WE + PE and was a false accusation as well.

"Please note, a piece of witness evidence and a piece of physical evidence without a fake/no alibi does not mean your suspect is necessarily guilty. "

Taken directly from the newbie FAQ sites.

I"ve always been told WE+PE does NOT equal guilty, and have definitely FAed on those before....

You cannot use the formula PE+WE=guilty by itself no matter what the WE is based on unless...You have figured out the amount of possible suspects with real and/or fake alibis. In fact I have been using Evita's Helper Page and it does the math for you so even if you have not spoken with a suspect or their alibi yourself, or if either one of them has clammed up and will not answer, if you get all possible fake or real alibis you then mark remaining suspects opposite. But you have to be sure of all the real and/or fake alibis that there are on the given case. The helper page figures it out and so far it has not been wrong for me(as long as the info I insert is correct) and I have been using it since oct. 27th on over 100cases in our agency.
