Hello,as you know, I'm Betta900 and I wanted to briefly disscuss faction bosses. On this board I would like to be able to help people know which one they might like best. I am trying to dig up dirt on all of the groups, or all those in New York for nonexperienced players, or players who have very little experience.
If anyone would like to help dig up dirt be my guest.

Actually, the Order of Socrates was a hemlock latte grande with whipped cream and extra sprinkles.

When it comes to things outside of New York, I am clueless. Would you fill me in on the "Green Hand"?

I think it might be related to the Green Gang, or a real gang that opertates in Taiwan.

Kind of a wicked sleutherized version of a cross between Earth First, the Earth Liberation Front, and elements of Deep Ecology. So in other words, me likey. lol. A 1920's gangland version of eco-terrorists with power, control, and influence in sleuthville. So much cool opportunity for storyline's here.

As for Order of Socrates, I love the idea that they are devoted to knowledge and thought above all else. Sort of a modern day humanism. They would be most in opposition to the church and DAB right? Seeing the church as "enslaving" the people and holding them back from realizing their true potential.

Anyone else see these factions doing battles behind the scenes here not only for control of the streets of sleuthville, but also for the hearts and minds of the citizens of sleuthville? One project I'm working on is setting up a centralized location (aka a community website) for players to post 'fan-fiction' where we can explore the possible scenarios and storylines this might entail. Also we could explore the other crimes and adventures our detectives get involved in, (ie: robbery, extortion, kidnapping, muggings, security, odd jobs, etc...) What do you guys think of something like this? Is there any interest? Any aspiring authors out there?

I dunno about contributing man, I've got a writer's block like 'this big' *gestures hugeness with outstretched arms*, but I think it's a really good idea. It's funny though; you're reminding me of when I used to do door canvas for Greenpeace. If things got slow, I'd lie and say I worked for an arms-length organization called The Green Vanguard...Greenpeace's unofficial militant arm -- that's kinda how I always saw the Green Hand here too.

I always thought the dies arcanum was the sleuth version of the Opus Dei. Its a secret religious sect, part of the roman catholic church, and was founded in the 1920s. You can look it up on wiki or google. I never read the Da Vinci code, but it plays a role in that novels plot.
