Yes, if your gear is high in smart properties, you will find the evidence, up to 4 pieces, and only if you have the basic ability to do so. You get foot and handwriting automatically but must buy the thread and hair basic skill. The smart adjustment also allows you to identify the evidence. Heavy/slim foot, male/female thread, curly/straight hair, left/right handwriting, but again only after you buy those skills. If your smart adjustment is too low you will find the evidence, but not identify it further.
The Charm and tough adjustment work in a similar manner, the higher your adjustment is, the better the skill will work.

Each piece of evidence will match one person. No one will match more than one piece of Physical evidence.
Out of the 4 pieces of evidence, there will be three people who match but have real alibis. The person who has a fake or no alibi is the Guilty person.
