Disconnected suspect?

I'm doing a favor case, very hard level.
There are supposed to be eight suspects.
But I have asked all seven suspects for other suspects successfully and I have also gotten all six hints from the townies -- and there are STILL just seven suspects.
So I definitely have a disconnected suspect, unless I've made an incorrect assumption about very hard = 8 suspects.
Is this supposed to be possible?
The case still might be solvable, I admit, but this doesn't seem right.

Ask the fortune teller to consult the fates..I cannot remember how many suspects are there at the very hard level.
"many signs, etc" means more suspects missing
"acters have taken the stage, etc." means you have everyone

If you ask Reda nicely she has the Sleuth Helper numbers.
In short all the cases have a fixed number of liars and a variable number of suspects.
For Almost Impossible cases it is 7 liars (one to be cleared by Research) and 10 or 11 suspects. There is a list of all the levels, but many people use the method AndreaX mentioned with the fourtune teller if they need to know if they have all their suspects.

I do believe that at the really hard level it is possible to have 7 or 8 suspects. I would definitely consult the fates to be sure :)
