So, when you click on, ask if a person needs a favor, do they ever Actually NEED a favor? Because so far everyone just says they're fine and there seems to be no point.
And also does it matter if one of the political groups eally doesn't like you? If your getting way downin there bad list should you quit cases they don't want you in or should you keep on treking?

Yes, from time to time they do need you to do a favour for them :)
Favours follow a pattern where you get one after succesfully solving 4 cases - this includes the last favour you had, if solved successfully, so if you are unsubscribed and solve your three daily cases correctly, you'll get one favour per day :)

It doesn't really matter if one of the political factions don't like you, except that you won't be able to buy any equipment from them or get to learn the skill they teach until you're on their good side. So if you're interested in getting in with a particular faction it might be a good idea to keep an eye out for the cutscene with the lady with the spy glass - these will affect two factions in the way stated if you solve the case and have the opposite effect if you quit it.
Generally if you're not subscribed I wouldn't recommend quitting cases just because of a faction since it will ruin your chances of getting that daily favour, and because you can always do the daily little job with any faction you're on good terms with to make them like you more :)
