Forgive this (stupid) question, but what exactly is role-playing in the agencies? I've seen it mentioned several times. (I know, I know, Sleuth is an RPG, but still...) Do you interact with each other as the detective you've created, complete with your own *interesting* personality? Do you get sent to the broom closet if you break character? :) Just curious...

(Leaves note for Mr. Grant)

Dear Mr. Grant,
I do thank you for trying to find our elusive agent Yoyo. You might have some luck tracking him down in the Barber shop. For some reason, our boy Yoyo has something of a fascination with his appearance, especially his hair. Of course, you may also find him at the Mission, confessing his sins about his latest adventures or newest trysts with the ladies (wink). If or when you do find him, would you kindly remind him that his presence is needed back at The Shire? It would be a shame for his desk to get swamped under four feet of case folders again so soon. Thank you kindly.

My regards,

Mari Peterson

Awww, Squirrel, thank you!! (Blushes, and hands Squirrel a bag of macadamia nuts in gratitude.) We have quite a few people around Omega's associated agencies who are very good and interested in role-playing, and it adds a lot of depth to a group's interactions and relationships. Much of our role-playing storyline is actually based on real-life and real-life events, so it doesn't have to be that complicated or fanciful, really. (And no, you don't get burned at the stake or something else dreadful for breaking out of your character or supposedly 'screwing up'. It's very hard to make a mistake in our storylines--we work around people's additions.) If you would like to see an example of some of ours, we have some of our beginning storyline posted now on our website. You can find it at
http://www.freewebs.com/omegadetectives/index.htm.
I hope this helps, and that you begin to enjoy role-playing!!

What??, Reese says, running into City Hall building. "Barry is in DELHI???" She grumbles to herself, as she walks back out, saying, "How dare he leave and not stop by my office to say bye. You just wait until he comes back" Straightening her jacket, and looking around to see if anyone was listening, she walked off, planning to TP his office while he is away, as punishment for not saying bye *grins*

Now Now Reese, please do not mess up the offices while I am out of town. Or at least please clean everything up before I get back from this hunt.

Yes yes, I know, I am moving along, chasing, hunting searching....

I hope that you are referring to Ran as I may be hunting but I'm not getting very far yet. Good thing I've got this nice thick coat so that whip doesn't sting.

(Leaves note for Director Peterson)

Director Peterson,

While checking an alibi, I asked the Barber about our elusive Mr. yoyo. Mr. Bharat Patel claims that yoyo did not keep his appointment today. I'm not sure I believe him, he was rather unwilling to answer a lot of my questions.

I also checked with the Missionary but he's clammed up. (He was also very rude about it which was uncalled for and rather unseemly for a man of faith.)

I even waited at the bar for him tonight thinking he might show after I left him a note inviting him to join me for a drink. He didn't. I get the impression he has been gone for a bit. His piano is out of tune.

I'll make the rounds again tomorrow morning and see what I can turn up. He's pretty smart so I think he would be able to get out of any jam with ease. Let's hope he turns up soon so, at least, he can get his piano tuned.

Officer Grant

Dear Barry Grant,

First and foremost I would like to welcome you back to The Shire. I checked out my piano and it is off. A repair man will be coming tommorow to fix it. I've been a little short on time lately but the problem should dissappear for the next two weeks.

I did confess my sins yesterday but the sins in question should not be posted here:P ( Who says very smart people aren't charmers) But looking good is a key part of this sin that's why I was with the barber for so long. And I'll tell the missionary to be nicer too.
I was around in the early morning but the streets of Delhi are riddled with criminals and someone needs to get an early start on them. I believe the saying goes 'The early bird gets the worm'.

Good to have you back and yes you are right this place is covered in a layer of dust. I do beleive it is time for a new cleaning lady.

Yoyo
