Registration is NOW being accepted for the October 10th beta test of the Dart Leagues in the AVL ("Arch Villain League").

I need 36 volunteers total to test everything, with the following stipulations:

2 sets of 6 detectives from the same agency (6 Hitchhikers & 6 Sirens, for example)

4 sets of 3 detectives from the same agency (3 Omega, 3 Blood & Dagger, 3 Fat Kitten, 3 SMRT Investigations, for example)

2 sets of 3-man teams regardless of agency affiliation

6 testers who will be teamed up at random.

If you are interested in learning about the AVL or becoming a Beta-Tester, please go to:

www.liquidkourage.net/sleuth

for more information.

If you have already talked to me about being a beta-tester, please PM me for your favlidation code.

Hey all!

UPDATE: The AVL message boards should be up and running tomorrow sometime, so make sure you log in to check them out, post something, ask questions or whatever you need :)

Also, thank Serges for his ridiculously dedicated self in getting these up and running so quickly!

Thanks!

***UPDATE***

The AVL message boards are now LIVE. You can access them by clicking on the "boards" tab at the top of your detective page. Enjoy!

Also, a quick word on match formation...

There is a "test match" that I created to test the functionality of the new match interaction scripts i am writing (invitations, for example). Several players have formed teams in that match in anticipation of gamma. Originally I was just going to erase that match prior to gamma, but if the people who have registered for that match are still interested, I will keep it as is. Please PM me and let me know if you would like to keep that match or have me erase it so you can enter other matches, which will be set up in the next few days.

You may have noticed the AVL site moved to www.lkentertainment.net/sleuth . This is because of continued access problems people were having on the original site.

Fixed a few bugs along the way as well, that a few people have pointed out.
Invitations now work correctly, and I finally figure out how to set PMs so that your (example)
new lines show up as such.

It does NOT appear that Grudge Matches will be ready for gamma, but they were going to be tested discreetly, so that shouldn't matter much for the public test.

I hope to have the map system working within the week as well. PLEASE NOTE that once the map system is available, the AVDL page(s) will be accessed through there, and will have a different, improved look.

For those of you that were not part of beta, you may be confused about the site. Until recently, there hasn't been much to do on the AVL site unless you were competing. With the gamma test, and shortly after, you can begin to see more and more of what the AVL is becoming: a full-fledged expansion to Sleuth. In fact, lest a lightning bolt strike me down from Mount Sleuth-lympus for saying this, I feel that the AVL could be considered the BIGGEST Sleuth expansion EVER, once it's all said and done. JOIN TODAY!

OK... I'm going to try this one more time...

If you are subscribed with over 100,000 experience,

THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO REASON WHY YOU SHOULDN'T JOIN THE AVL!

The AVL has become SO much more than a way to compete using Villain Hunts. I want people to stop thinking of it as a side competition and start thinking of it more like the first-ever fan-based EXPANSION to Sleuth. In fact, there are things to do in the AVL now that don't have ANYTHING to do with villain hunting!

The site is still very much in its infancy, but let me assure everyone that in only a few months, the AVL will be a world of its own. You can further improve and define your detectives within its walls, compete in a host of other competitive venues, and since it is a detective-led expansion, you can help shape the future of it!

That being said... hunting or not, Gamma testing or not, there is now a reason built into the site for people to want to log in EVERY DAY. I won't say what it is, but I hope when you find it, you will be pleasantly surprised!

That's EXACTLY how I felt Clara! It works on a subliminal level too - for some reason, after clicking around yesterday, I felt compelled to go out and buy me a deep-dish pizza. Freakin' Serges with his mind-control towel...

***UPDATE***

With the Gamma launch coming up in just a few short days, progress on the site is coming along well. The AVDL match interface is just about finished, with recently added functionality so members can create and disband their own teams, join or quit teams, send invitations, and make seats on their team "private" or "public."

With registration starting to near 100 members, I do find it confusing that only about 25% of the AVL members have signed up for a gamma match yet.
Let me be clear about this:
THE ONLY WAY TO GAIN EXPERIENCE IN THE AVL IS BY COMPETING IN MATCHES!
You can register, participate in the boards, use the message system, and do the "twists" to your heart's content, but you'll soon realize that experience is the key to unlocking the many hidden secrets and surprises in the AVL. SO JOIN A TEAM TODAY!

We still have room for at least 5 more full teams, and several current teams are not completely filled yet. To register a team or sign up for a public seat on a team, just go to the Commissioner's Office in Chicago, find a match that says its accepting teams or entries, and sign up from there. Or, just get a team captain to send you an invitation, and you're in!

As always, if anyone has any questions, either PM an AVL admin or leave a message on the AVL boards.

A little over 48 hours to go, folks. It's crunch time.
