Depends on the genre, but probably lyrics. I can't get into the music if what I'm hearing is the teenage ramblings of someone who started out with the excited realisation that 'hold my hand' rhymes with 'understand' and next thing you know is dribbling mindlessly about dreams coming true, being lost without you, never letting you go and being there by your side. Oh, and using the word 'baby' every other line in a way that should be punishable by death.
