There are two common requests that we can tackle simultaneously. The first is that people want to submit their own picture to use as their detective's avatar. The second is that there are not enough different suspect pictures.

So, if you would like to submit your own picture, I can set that as your avatar. In exchange, I would like to add those pictures to the pool of possible suspect pics. I'll set it up so that nobody else will be able to use your picture for their detective, but your face will make appearances in the various cases in the game.

I don't want to automate the process because then people will upload all kinds of junk that would detract from the game.

I'll take care of the cropping, resizing and desaturating. By sending in photos, you are granting permission for use in this game.

what if you want a picture that is already a suspects picture but you would really like to have that picture

I think it might depend on which one you have your eye on.

The pictures people send in are also used as pictures for suspects so if it's one which someone else has already sent in and asked to use, it might not be as easy to get.

But if it's one from the old set of avatars that you could choose from or some of the other ones Ben has added himself, it might well be possible - but probably best to check with Ben :)

Ben usually processes a few at a time so it can take a couple of weeks for the new photo to come into effect. Give it a bit longer and if you're still waiting send Ben an email or PM Sleuth Admin

It only takes a couple of clicks to change colour photos into black and white so I don't think it matters which kind you send in :)
