there is a great variance between the older players and agencies
and those who came along later...a gap that perhaps is too hard
to close...might i suggest quarterly rounds where the townies are
deleted for all...the older players would still have the advantage of
money, experience points, general knowledge of the game but the
quarterly deletion of townies ( all players having to reacquire the
townie favors every 90 days ) would make the game more competitive among all players and add some challenge every 90
days for the older players...

Good for you Mary maybe.
Once again, Mary, how is this fair?

I think it would make AV hunts even harder if you suddenly lost your contacts right in the middle of one as well as take longer to start if you'd have to go round gathering up a new set of contacts before even beginning one.

Also from my own little bellybutton view of the world, it would mean that the 150+(and counting) favours I've been quitting in the attempt to get the stage manager will have been a complete and utter waste both in terms of experience points, skill points, money and agency fame lost - not to mention time.

In terms of high scores, even though they may seem out of reach, there are quite a few people racking up better scores than those who've been playing for a longer time so it's not an impossible task.

In terms of hunting, we now have the pirates who can help slow down a multi-city hunt and may turn out as advantage to smaller agencies :)

Mary, it is definitely NOT guaranteed, as you can see from Greyling's post. It can take FOREVER to get a contact, and I know that myself and the people in my agency have spent countless hours, days and cases trying to get a contact. If you want to play the game by yourself, its your choice, but we work hard to get what we have and setting back the "accumulation" would lead to more problems, IMHO.

It is your opinion that it is good for the game, but I don't think thats the way Ben and Sunny intended it to be, and I think just pretty much craps on the work I've put into getting my contacts. If you choose not to work as hard for them, thats your choice.

Can I just point out, a townie would be lost after a certain period of time. It wouldnt just be after, say, 250 cases, ALL thecontacts were lost, each contact would be lost after being active for 250 cases, or however long. Maybe if a contact lasted for a year, then started being uncooperative, meaning you had to find a new contact. It wouldnt make the game majorly different, but it would help newer detectives out a little bit, and seeing as how contacts are got at sizeable intervals, there is always time to find another contact before another is lost. Lets not forget, its only a suggestion.

It is NOT guaranteed AT ALL! We had in our agency several people that tried for months quitting many a favor to gain a particular contact. If all of a sudden they lost it, it would be devastating to them and to their agency.
Any agency can build up their contacts, their experience, and their fame over time with dedication and hard work.
There are MANY detectives younger than me with more experience and skills. I have given up both sometimes for the sake of a treasure hunt.
A lot of agencies are willing to hire newer detectives and then spend quite a bit of time helping them build up.
Giving up contacts would be terrible and I really don't see how it would help newer agencies anyways, considering the randomness of the favors in treasure hunts and clues in villain hunts.

I dont even really see how it would help newer detectives either, they could get a contact in five seconds is the randomness worked that way....one contact is not going to make a huge difference in how the game is played....

There is more help now for younger detectives than there ever has been and many older players that are willing to help younger players.
I think the problem is that everyone wants their own agency straigth away and wants all the perks that come with an older agency that has had a LOT of TIME and WORK put into it, to be at their disposal WITHOUT putting in the TIME and EFFORT and WORK themselves.

You used to see players spending time at established agencies where they had the contacts, the equipment and the skills to help out.

Now everyone create their own and you have a very small minority saying, "This isn't fair. All the big old agencies win al lthe time. All the big old agencies have contacts. All the big old agencies have skills."

Once again, I point out, this option is available to EVERYONE and we ALL started with NOTHING.
BUT people put in the hard work, the effort and the time.
I know that a lot of people put a lot of time into their agencies, their detectives and their contacts, why should all THEIR hard WORK go to waste because someone that has NOT put in the hard WORK, TIME and effort thinks it's not fair or that they should be given a chance?

And yes, it is only a suggestion, and at the risk of being critised because I disagree with it, the points made that do disagree are fair whereas I can't see the fainress in older players being penalised for newer players.

Ok Ruby, no need to shout

I can see both sides. Yes it would be good, people could change contacts, or bigger agencies who always win hunts would be slowed slightly allowing newer agencies to steal a few. But on the other hand, yes the older agencies and directors have worked a lot for what they have, and contact removal could damage them.
