This is a very simple and fun game. The first person makes a wish, and each following person finds some way to corrupt the wish and then makes a new wish. For example:

Person 1. I wish I had a dog

Person 2. You have a dog, but it dies the day after you get it

I wish I had a muffin

Person 3: You get a muffin, but you drop it and have to throw it away.

And so on.

Your firt wish to corrupt is this:

I wish I had a new car.

A completely anonymous donor sends you a lifetime gift subscription. But it is not to Sleuth.
Instead it is a subscription Wikipedia so that you can look up information on such topics as W.C. Fields and Armageddon. Using this free gift you discover worlds of information. Such as the fact that W.C. Fields is in fact a real historical figure and other such valuable tidbits.....

Oh wait....Wikipedia is already free! Never mind. No need to corrupt your wish...it is now granted.

I wish that all of those Martians would become more environmentally conscientious and stop warming their globe.

Everyone becomes exceptionally enviromentally concious. So serious that noone produces high-tech gadgets such as servers and hubs, so you are eventually disconnected, your PC breaks down in a few years and you are left without Sleuth or any other entertainment for that matter.
Surely, ven football balls are too complicated and enviromentally dangerous in production.

I wish my old copy of Arcanum runs smoothly...

Your old copy of Arcanum runs very smoothly on a bespoke system that cost the equivalent of the GDP of Luxemburg to build. Unfortunately you are unable to honour your end of the contract and have to file for insolvency, your old copy of Arcanum is siezed and sold to China.

I wish my wish was corrupted.

Your wish is corrupted. You are so pleased with the resulting confusion that you develop a major obsession with paradoxical concepts and cannot be prevented from talking about Mobius strips and the Pirates of Penzance. Eventaully you lose all contact with reality and can be found wandering the streets making up songs about string theory.

I wish I could stop getting to this thread immediately after Brasco.

You do, but now you've got nothing to do and find yourself spending all your time at a postmodern male nude revue joint called 'Mobius Strips and The Pirates of His Pants'. Eventually you too lose touch with reality, along with most of your smaller currency and can be found throwing up in the ladies' room toilet accusing the larger chunks of being floating signifiers and muttering about g-string theory.

I wish I had me some postmodern pants.

You get a pair, but they rip as soon as you put them on.

I wish I could go to the movies

Your wish is granted, unfortunately you never get to leave and are forced to watch films created for use in elementary school that have the benefit of being both youthful and educational. Lucky you! As an added bonus the concessions are free only they are filled with healthy treats like pumpkin seeds, dried apples and plain milk.

I wish I was corrupted by Ceres Trajan.

Your wish was corrupted, but not by Ceres Trajan...

Poof! The 80's never happened. But you've got the big 80's hair & everyone thinks you look a little weird.

I wish i could get a PE contact.
