Due to the success of the lateral puzzles in the "A riddle" thread, it seems appropriate to start a lateral thinking puzzle thread.

A rule of thumb to follow would be to allow those who do not know the answer to figure it out for themselves. If you happen to know the answer, please keep it to yourself and let the others have the fun.

Please feel free to start one at any point. It is not necessary to wait for one to finish before starting another one.

Have fun!

Mr Brown did you ever pick up what Mr Smith wanted?{YES I DID}
Mr Smith, Did Mr Brown ever give you what you wanted?{YES HE DID}

Mr Smith, did you realise that Mr Brown had slept with your wife because of something she said to you about the sexual encounter? {YES! LET ME TELL YOU SHE REALLY HURT MY FEELINGS}

Mrs Smith, was it pitch black because you had turned the lights off? {YES}

Mr Brown, was it pitch black because you had turned the lights off? {NO THEY WERE OFF WHEN I ARRIVED.}

Mr Brown, was the item you were sent to fetch located in the bedroom? {YES IT WAS, UNDER THE BED TO BE EXACT}

Mr Smith, did you expect your wife to be at home while Mr Brown was there collecting the item you wanted? {YES}

Mr Smith, was the item Mr Brown was fetching for you something that you wanted to keep secret from your wife? {NOT EXACTLY}

Clearing his throat, constable Spike speaks up."Excuse me for interupting again inspector, but maybe we should recap the facts we have thus far."

"Mrs. Smith enters your office reporting a rape. We have since learned that it was Mr. Brown who had sexual relations with Mrs. Smith. Further, Mrs. Smith assumed it was her husband she was having relations with, due to the room being pitch black. Mr. Smith learned about the encounter due to something Mrs. Smith had said to him. I'm still not clear as to when the sexual relations happened or when Mrs. Smith said something that hurt Mr. Smith's feelings.It was at that time Mr Smith hit Mrs. Smith in the eye. We also know Mr. Brown was in the bedroom getting something for Mr. Smith. I am assuming it is at the Smiths residence. There still seems to be a bit more information we need to solve this case."

Mrs Smith, did the encounter with Mr Brown take place at your home address? Did you subsequently advise Mr Smith that you much prefered his new style of lovemaking?

Mrs Smith, you said that the encounter with Mr Brown happened either yesterday or today. Are you unsure because it happened in the middle of the night?

Mr Smith, you said that you expected your wife to be there, and that you expected Mr Brown would be able to enter and leave unnoticed. We know that the item was under the bed. Did you expect Mr Brown to enter and leave the bedroom while your wife was asleep? Or did you expect him to retrieve the item at a time when your wife was not in the bedroom?

Mr Smith, were you waiting somewhere for Mr Brown to retrieve this item? When you asked him to get it, were you at work? At a bar? Somewhere else?

Mr Smith, I'm curious as to why you asked Mr Brown to fetch the item rather than getting it yourself. Was there some reason you were unable to leave the bar? Or was there a reason why you did not want to go home?
