Due to the success of the lateral puzzles in the "A riddle" thread, it seems appropriate to start a lateral thinking puzzle thread.

A rule of thumb to follow would be to allow those who do not know the answer to figure it out for themselves. If you happen to know the answer, please keep it to yourself and let the others have the fun.

Please feel free to start one at any point. It is not necessary to wait for one to finish before starting another one.

Constable Spike announces who the two men are to the Inspector. Then the interrogations continues:

"Mrs. Smith, is this man, Mr. Smith, your husband?" {YES, HE IS}

"Mrs. Smith, do you know Mr. Brown?" {YES, I DO}

"Mrs. Smith, did either of these men give you the black eye?" {YES}

"Mrs. Smith, were you raped?" {YES...IN FACT... I THOUGHT....THE TRUTH IS, I DON'T KNOW}

"Mrs. Smith, did the person who committed the rape just enter the room?" {NO, I DON'T KNOW}

To Mr Brown:

"Did you know Mr Smith prior to this incident? Are you related at all? Are you aquainted with Mrs Smith? Again, are you related? Do you know anything about the alleged rape?"

To Mr Smith:

"Were you trying to hurt your wife when you gave her that black eye? Have you calmed down yet?"

To Mrs Smith:

"You came to report a rape, are you the victim of that rape? Do you have any injuries other than your black eye? Are you and Mr Smith happily married?"

"Did you know Mr Smith prior to this incident?{ YES, I DID} Are you related at all?{NO} Are you aquainted with Mrs Smith?{YES} Again, are you related?{NO} Do you know anything about the alleged rape?" {UM, ER...DO I HAVE TO ANSWER THIS?}

To Mr Smith:

To Mrs Smith:
