Due to the success of the lateral puzzles in the "A riddle" thread, it seems appropriate to start a lateral thinking puzzle thread.

A rule of thumb to follow would be to allow those who do not know the answer to figure it out for themselves. If you happen to know the answer, please keep it to yourself and let the others have the fun.

Please feel free to start one at any point. It is not necessary to wait for one to finish before starting another one.

Have fun!

Barry and henry both got it (or at least close enough!)

John Smith was born in room 1952 of the hospital. 84 years later, he died in room 1972 of the same hospital.

As for Barry's riddle...

can we assume that for purposes of this riddle, Mickey Mouse's girlfriend is Minnie Mouse?

Did the grown men know Minnie was Mickey's girlfriend before they asked? After they asked?

Is the location of this riddle relevant?

Aside from being mentioned in the men's question, is Mickey Mouse present in the riddle?

Did the men expect people to answer "Minnie"? "Minnie Mouse"? relevant?

Were the men attempting to accomplish a goal other than either finding out or knowing if people knew who Mickey's girlfriend was?

Is the name Minnie more important than the character Minnie in this riddle?

As a rephrase of a previous question (for clarification)... the men were attempting to accomplish something other than determining if people knew who Mickey's girlfriend was?

Were the men trying to get people to say the word Minnie for some reason?
As some form of joke perhaps?

Does the location have anything substantial to do with Disney? Such as Disneyland or Walt Disney World?

Based on a true story?

Were they in Disneyland/Disney World and trying to find out who was inside the "Minnie Mouse" costume? Maybe it was a young lady they wanted to meet?

Are the identities of the people they were asking relevant in any way?

Is this story something famous enough that the average person stands a good chance of knowing about it?

Were the grown men attempting to prove something by asking the question?

Is the wording of the actual question asked relevant?

Are the identities of the questionees relevant because of some demographic factor-- age, gender, race, appearance, culture, geographic location? If not, is the number of people asked relevant?

Did they ask any other relevant questions?

Other than Mickey/Minnie Mouse, is Disney relevant in any way?
