Would it be at all possible to see the number of cases we have left during an Arch Villain Hunt? It would be useful for travel, knowing how many cases we have left once we reach our destination.

Could not knowing how many cases we have be part of the challenge?

While not seeing how many cases I have left in the case tab is frustrating, I can easily keep track of it myself on paper.

I thought about this too, then I decided I agreed with Ara.
I know a few people were getting bored with the game as even A.Is weren't that challenging to them anymore.. and now there is a challenge..
I know that there's a lot of things each of us would do differently.. or parts we feel are unfair...
But the thing is, we didn't create the game... and I feel like, with respect to you Ara and Rach, as this is not aimed at you or anyone directly, that we are never happy.
We wanted an expansion and we got it.
Sleuth is NOT Ben's main job and him and Sunny both work hard to make as many people as happy as possible.
Sure, there are things I want changed and I have put forward suggestions, believe me, I am not exempt here.. but sometimes I feel like we should just shut the *(&^ up and be happy and greatful for what we have here.
This was really highlighted to me when I was bored and started playing that silly zombie game... one Mod nuked the message boards while the Admin was away.. and now apparently he's back but is not addressing any players concerns.
I just wish that people (myself included) put some cheese with their whine and stop complaining.

I think this thread will help

http://noir.playsleuth.com/map/cityhall/post.spy?id=14608

The relevant quote"
Hypothetical Software recently made the transition from part-time home business to small startup with a full-time staff. We are currently seeking a round of financing to grow our existing Sleuth franchise and expand into similar products."

I do not think Ben or Sunny are annoyed by reasonable suggestions, and it is good to see ideas debated on what would enhance the game without making it too easy.

Ran, I am so glad you said that! I have been afraid of making any suggestions in re:expansion because I did not want to seem ungrateful!

Number of cases left would be nice.

Also, progress report (similar to treasure hunts) would be nice too.

Hmm...I didn't even think about it being a part or the "allure" of Villains.

Either way, I am now keeping track with paper, now that I realized it doesn't keep track for us visibly.

A progress report would be Great! Good idea!! And the number of cases would help as well. I use too many different computers to keep track of my paper with cases left on it!!

Of course, the expansion is great. I'm not complaining!! :-)

Yup, I never thought that it might be part of the challenge of the hunt either. As I've said to LED in (very friendly!) PM, in no way shape or form am I complaining or ungrateful--in fact I am thrilled to bits about everything so far! :)

Gloria in Excelsis Deo!!!!!!! One should always aim for Higher, Better, More!!!!!

:-)

Okay, let's face it! Our Sleuth Gods did a magnificent job already and the new expansion gave another dimension to this game. Gratitude is most definitely at it's place here. And we haven't quite seen everything yet...

Yet, at the same time let's stay sharp and alert and hint once in a while what smaller or greater adjustments could be made or even new (good) ideas that can be implemented. After all, this game wants to be dynamic also :) Else we still would be all together in New York, with only 3 factions and no treasure hunts...

I'm completely grateful for this expansion. As it states in the Villain Hunt FAQ, it's a challenge for the most experienced of detective's. So, in other words, Ben made it complicated and challenging so that we would all enjoy it! I know I am - it's better than doing any regular cases. The allure of the hunt, the scent of the villain... once I'm done with my professor, I'm going back for more. :)
