Hi, I'm new here, but I've been doing a lot of cases and so I've come across the factions. I do the little job the Order Of Socrates gives me every day in order to eventually learn Hypnotism. However, everytime I log in my standings go down. For example, yesterday I had +15, I did the little job, and I got to +19, but today, my standings were down at +16 so I had to another job, etc.

I just want to know if this normal, and do the factions ever stop giving out little jobs?

Once you have a positive standing with a faction you can do "little jobs" for them. Little jobs are like odd jobs or small missions you can perform to make a faction like you more, something, which will then enable you to enjoy certain benefits offered by the faction in question. You can only perform 1 little job per day, and while it will affect your standings with the faction you do it for positively, you shouldn't count on the rivalling factions to react with enthusiasm.

Faction Standing Benefits.
1 point: You may now visit the faction's headquarters, buy equipment, and do little jobs for them.
5 points: You receive a slight discount when purchasing faction equipment.
10 points: If you are in an agency, you can now purchase information on treasure hunts. You also receive and additional discount on faction equipment.
20 points: You receive an additional discount on faction equipment.
25 points: If you have enough skill points, you can now learn the faction's special skill.
30 points: You will now receive the highest discount on items.

Okay, the above posts are from the Newbie FAQ located at the bottom of the page. This is a wonderful guide that gives you more information about the game.

Your faction level will go down if you are above 10, however, you will always have the option to do a favor for the faction, once a day.

I hope this helps!
