I have created a sleuth miracle!

IT IS THE UNHIJACKABLE THREAD!

Go ahead and try, but this thread is about anything and nothing, all at the the same time!

This is the place where Al can talk about world domination, Crunch can worship David Hasselhoff, SS can try and find even more complicated questions for his pub quizzes, Nikkie can advertise for Tim Tams, cfm can troll for more Sharpie victims, JR can beg for the chance to win Bobo back, and bedazzling can be a way of life!

So go off, rant and rave, talk about anything, i don't care, I just wanted to see my avatar on the page (when its actually me anyways)

So go ahead, I dare you all to try and hijack me :)

Well, if you got hold of some fast hair growth shampoo you could always try taking on these guys in Amberg:

I'm sure the evil villain variant would be a sure hit. And if shampoo isn't working, there's always next year in Brighton so you'll have lots more time to perfect it ;D

(continued) The three of us went out that night. Markus mentioned how great it had been traveling together and that we should do it again some.
I just laughed it off, it had been great. But lived six months in Germany and six months in China. He mentioned it again and siad it would be great to meet up somewhere overseas and travel some more.

I came from a big family and money had been tight. Holidays were in cars and were camping by a river *IF* there was money rather than expensive ski trips or flights to Auckland and Rainbow's End. Hell, we never even made the Antarctic Encounter and Underwater World in Christchurch.

Those days were a blast and are something I'll never forget. We'd take the cats and the dog and the budgies and the tents. The first day was always firewood day for us kids. We'd spend ages making a pile while Dad and Mum put up the tents. Next was the fireplace and then digging the longdrop. . Of course, he'd have to mow a pathway through the thistles first. Oddly enough, the smell of dettol though associated with longdrops for me, brings back pleasant memories.
He'd then dig a very long hole that would be the refridgerator while we'd still hunt for firewood. Last of all would be the path to the river. If it was the same campsite as the year before the old path could often be re-found.
FINALLY! We could go for a swim in the river. We'd stay often for 3 or more weeks. It was there I'd learn to ride a bike when I was 10, it was there I caught a baby rabbit and won $5 for doing so. That was a lot of money in those days for a kid. I really don't think my parents expected any of us to catch a rabbit- it was just something my Mum came up to entertain us.
Dad would also make a swing- a log with a rope through the middle of it tied extremly high to a tree. Dad was always climbing trees I guess, to make us treehuts or to cut firewood so we could eat or to put up a swing.

At one campsite, there was the willow branch that had grown horizontally about 3 metres up and was easy to climb. We'd climb while a brother or sister threw the swing to us then them climb of the swing and fly.
We also put up hammocks, ... one for Mum and one for Dad. There is a photo with me sitting in the hammock playing connect 4 with Dad holding his beer looking so happy that you couldn't imagine this little girl's heart would soon break and her home become broken.
It was also at the River where I nearly drowned and became scared of water which for me was gut-wrenching. I loved the water so much.
At school camp, we went sailing one time... and my best friend co-erced me to get in a sail boat with her... I had been standing at the edge for most of day... we got half way out.. when the fear became to much and I panicked.
I remember screaming at her to stop me back or I would jump out of the boat. I was pretty hysterical with fear.
Not long after that incident, I was at Moana Pool... I walked past the diving pool which was about 12 feet deep and made a decision... if I could jump in there and live, I didn't have to be scared anymore.
I jumped in.. and obviously I lived. After that I was fine. My sister, while doing her physcology dgree later told me, I had "flooded"myself. Prety in-depth phobia training for a 10 year old. (Puns intended).
It was also at the river that I learnt about the birds and the bees at age five... well it was actually ladybirds.
My mother's first answer that the ladybirds were giving each other piggy backs didn't seem to satisfy my five year old curiousity. So, my mother enlightened lady that she is, told me the whole story. Later, when she got home she got out the "Where do I come from?" book so I could see the pictures...
I also learnt that hedgehogs could run REALLY FAST which furthur increased the mystery of why they also end up as road kill...RUN HEDGEHOG RUN!
(to be continued)
