I have created a sleuth miracle!

IT IS THE UNHIJACKABLE THREAD!

Go ahead and try, but this thread is about anything and nothing, all at the the same time!

This is the place where Al can talk about world domination, Crunch can worship David Hasselhoff, SS can try and find even more complicated questions for his pub quizzes, Nikkie can advertise for Tim Tams, cfm can troll for more Sharpie victims, JR can beg for the chance to win Bobo back, and bedazzling can be a way of life!

So go off, rant and rave, talk about anything, i don't care, I just wanted to see my avatar on the page (when its actually me anyways)

So go ahead, I dare you all to try and hijack me :)

Did you know that during the Cold War, the pentagon along with the assistance of the Rand Corporation assigned values to each and every target in the US, Europe, and USSR. This bridge is worth 3 points, that base is worth 6, this city is worth 10 that railway junction worth 2. In this way, the maniacs actually plotted out a tactical response to any Soviet nuclear agression. They hit downtown Chicago, we get to hit x amount of bases and bridges in retaliation to make it even. <True fact, although I pulled the numbers out of thin air> Hey, do you know how much I paid to learn little gems like this? When am I gonna use this? huh? Not even on jeopordy. lol

Even more bizarre. During this crazy period, they become so conviced that mathematics and computers could solve everything, that in the mid 1960's they plugged in every variable and statistic on the Vietnam war. The super computer crunched the numbers for a while, then told them they had already won the war! Ha! True story, I've watched the video where they look at the results and are dumbfounded. Another gem. Ah college! Political Science and Foriegn Affairs. Unless your going to be a lawyer, I'd suggest another course of study. lol

I'm having an Alice moment reading this thread:

`As to poetry, you know,' said Humpty Dumpty, stretching out one of his great hands, ` I can repeat poetry as well as other folk, if it comes to that -'

`Oh, it needn't come to that!' Alice hastily said, hoping to keep him from beginning.

`The piece I'm going to repeat,' he went on without noticing her remark, `was written entirely for your amusement.'

Alice felt that in that case she really ought to listen to it; so she sat down, and said `Thank you' rather sadly...

For BadAss's statistical survey: mine is the one where according to the egg story, cheese omelettes are said to cure just about anything.

(continued) I left early that morning, it was still a long way from Makoroa to Franz Josef. I had my very retro '70s back pack on complete with metal bar framing. It had been my Dad's, I think he first got in his police training days. It was a backpack that has seen a few school camps at Mt Aspring National Park, mostly mine. There was 4th Form Camp, Biology, Geography, Leader's Camp, 4th Form Camp as a 7th form Leader, and various siblings camps too. Numerous music festivals and hitching trips and I'd later take the backpack to Hawaii where this story ends and then onto Korea where this story lead too.

It was my second year in Korea that I finally had to throw my pack away and there was a tear. I'd done some travelling wit the old, uncomfortable, ugly pack.

I was wearing my, what I referred to as my Sound of Music Skirt and what my Mum referred to as my Shower Curtain Skirt. My clothes often became infamous in there own right and some friends stil talk of the Little White Dress. That skirt was the one I was wearing on New Year's Day when I looked at Paddy (a different, younger one), a good friend of four years and realised that it was more than friendship and just wanted to hug, kiss and hold him. He'd realised this for a longer time than me and I've always kicked myself for not realising sooner.

Paddy and I did get together, but by the time I'd worked out there was potencial, he was going to Australia. We had a great 3 weeks together and I have only seen him once since that time. He'd come over to NZ for a week and we bumped into each other at a bar and spent one great night together.
There used to be an advert on TV for yoghurt, Fresh n Fruity. They said all women should have a personal relationship with a hairdresser and own an electric drill. They said all women should have a past love that shows them how far they've come and one that they could see going back too.

While I have plently of ex boyfriends whose show me how far I've come. Paddy was different. Maybe because we had been friends for so long. Maybe because we never reallty broke up. And while I don't see myself going back to Paddy or even wishing I could, it was special. He is special.
Ultimately this story and all that has gone before found me Daniel, the love of my life.
(to be continued)
