I hope there is a delete option to allow me to reuse detective names that I have screwed up in the past. Having this should also allow the game to do some housekeeping cause I believe the number of inactive detectives by now should be enormous.

I agree with LED, CFM and Reese a lot of these threads that have been brought back won't have been seen by the newer members of sleuth includig myself and have been interesting and fun to read.

There are a lot of old threads and some people don't have time to search through all of them. I like to see how the old timers were when they were new : )

Whoa, whoa, katiejayne! You're not in agreement with me. All I commented on was old detective names - and I didn't even mean just going through and deleting old ones, just maybe if somebody screwed up and wanted to reuse one of their old usernames.

I'm in total agreement with cfm, LED, and Reese about the threads. Keep Sleuth's history!

I dont' think the old threads being dug up is boring at all.

Definitely don't delete old ones just because they're inactive - their players wouldn't deserve that. I just commended the idea of having the option for a user to scrap one to start new.

I apologize Temperance for misinterpreting your statement.

I HATE these old threads being brouht up. And quite frankly the majority of them are like an "inside joke" and not that amusing or entertaining to read.

Its dull and boring. This community is so creative I dont know why the past has to be dredged up.

Yes, I'm in total agreement with LED, cfm et al too :-) Let's keep what we have and keep looking over our shoulders all the time.

Things are back to normal now.

I think that its nice to look back on stuff dont get me wrong but aftor a while i think some threads should be deleted or if someone whats to take the time put them somewhere else like make a new message board but some of them are fun to look at

But... "inside jokes" are fun, too, for the people inside them. Maybe not for the general public, granted, but it's still nice to keep Sleuthville's histroy present...

As much as I enjoy going back in time on my own, I have to admit that I'm not a big fan of seeing a lot of the old threads being brought back up to the top, UNLESS there are new threads being created on the subject.

There is a lot of wisdom in the old threads that newbies would do well to read through. Explanations of why things are the way they are, what changes have been made to the game, etc. I spent a great deal of time in them when I first started here. (Once I got past my intial boardphobia.) :)

As for the inside jokes, most of us are happy to fill you in if need be! :D

We will not delete old threads. We like having the history around.

Old threads do not take up much space on the server.
