I hope there is a delete option to allow me to reuse detective names that I have screwed up in the past. Having this should also allow the game to do some housekeeping cause I believe the number of inactive detectives by now should be enormous.

Maybe some of the older threads could also get deleted. Cfms gonna kill me for saying that. I mean there are threads from the year 2004 do we really need those?

GenMing, this has come up plently of times before and is something, I've bought up too. Ben did delete a lot of previous detective names a one point.
However, you can always be a little more creative.
Add a Doctor or Sir or Lord or Snr or Jnr or II or III or Mrs or Mr or change the spelling (of) to your original name.

Gen and Yoyo, time and time again, people have bought up the fact they play Sleuth because of the community. A huge and essential part of any community is the history and people that come before.

And it's not just cfm that does not think older threads should be deleted. Also, a lot of inactive or retired people were part of Sleuth's great history. Why should their name be deleted?

I'm in agreement with YoYo and Temperance. The past week has SUCKED with all those old message threads being brought up. If I wanted to read them, I would have wasted my life away hitting the previous button.

If the old message threads are left out there for all of eternity, please leave them in the past. If you want to take a trip down memory lane, thats great... go for it. But for the rest of us..... BORING!!

Let's face it people. If we have to keep on digging up the old stuff that means we have nothing new to say. Or that we wish the community would always be with the same old group of people.

Let's get rid of the dust and cobwebs and get a broom through this :-)

Wow, this has brought up feelings!

Personally, I have not been here too long, but I LOVED looking back at the old threads and seeing the history of sleuth unfold: the good, the bad, and the...well, ugly.

I agree with LED, CFM and Reese a lot of these threads that have been brought back won't have been seen by the newer members of sleuth includig myself and have been interesting and fun to read.

There are a lot of old threads and some people don't have time to search through all of them. I like to see how the old timers were when they were new : )

Whoa, whoa, katiejayne! You're not in agreement with me. All I commented on was old detective names - and I didn't even mean just going through and deleting old ones, just maybe if somebody screwed up and wanted to reuse one of their old usernames.

I'm in total agreement with cfm, LED, and Reese about the threads. Keep Sleuth's history!

I dont' think the old threads being dug up is boring at all.

Definitely don't delete old ones just because they're inactive - their players wouldn't deserve that. I just commended the idea of having the option for a user to scrap one to start new.
