I never see posts about this skill, and I'm trying to decide whether it is worth purchasing.

I have all the the charming interviewing/smart skills in addition to lock picking, underworld connections, and hypnotism, but have been saving up skill points for the expansion...Is surveillance worth it to purchase now? How often does it work?

Basically, I'm leaning heavily toward waiting for the expansion, but just looking to get all the pros and cons of this skill.

Thanks in advance,
Serena

^^yeah that. I have seen a 50/50 success rate, when wearing smart gear. When it works it's a lovely thing, that's for certain. But with the new expansion just around the corner, I'd agree that it might be a good idea to wait and see if the "Blast Suspect's Home With Bananarama Songs Till He Cracks, Unclams, and then Dies, Screaming and Bleeding From His Ears" skill might be a better option. I know I'm definitely holding out for that one.

There are some tricks to using Surveillance that are one of the lesser known secrets of Sleuth PM me for some hints.

To your point of purchasing it or not, I would say no. The number of times it will be useful for you compared to the 'coolness' factor of getting one of the new skills right away that you might need to hunt down your first Arch Villian is something to consider.

Build and save your skill points, we only have to wait a few more weeks for the gates to open.

I would LOOOOVE the Bananarama Torture skill! Would it be tough or charming? hmmmm.... I am, however, holding out for the "Kicking him to kindom come if they don'y unclamm" skill to be used with suspects in like, really hard cases that clam up right away. That be a tough one, in case you are wondering.

In re: surveillance. I only used it with another detective in my agency that has it, and I see about 50/50 success rate without smart gear on. Of course, I had forgotten that it is a smart skill and did not out my smart gear on. The one I adore is hypnotism! Works much better than surveillance in getting more suspects and it is automatic!

Thank you so much, everyone :)

I have skill points practically burning a whole in my pocket, but I think I'll hold out just on the off chance that a Bananarama Torture Skill makes the cut...I wouldn't want to wait to purchase that :p

P.S. Reese, no I didn't ask that, but I definitely should have...So thanks for the info :)

Can unsubscribed detectives catch arch villians and visit the new city?

Well, we're still waiting for the expansion to come in about a week's time, but my guess would be that they can't.
